Do you have the same thing to eat every day?

Most days I have the exact same thing for breakfast - egg whites with a bit of cheese and a glass of milk. I usually have the same thing for lunch every day also - peanut butter or tuna on multi grain bread. But there are some people who need variety every single day and ridicule me for having the same thing. Every once in awhile I break out of the mold and have something different for breakfast or lunch. But sandwiches are just so easy to pack for lunch. So do you have the same thing to eat every day? Or do you have something different for breakfast, lunch and dinner all the time? I'd love to hear all of your responses...

Pancake day! That's awesome! And when I thought about it I don't think I can go a day without having at least one little bit of chocolate either... Thanks for the response.

Hi there...I try to change what I have to eat. I may eat the same things for breakfast a few days in a row but will soon tire of it. Especially suppers...Two days in a row of the same thing is enough. Some days for breakfast I will have eggs, cooked differently on different days. Some days I have just toast or an english muffin. Some days cereal..and some days yogurt and fruit. Lunches to tend to be mostly sandwiches or sometimes I will have dinner at lunch time and eat a sandwich or soup later.

Hi Sandy! That's neat to have dinner at lunchtime! I actually think soup and sandwiches are on the menu for this evening's dinner at my house. My husband can't have things for more than two days in a row either...so I understand. Thanks for the response!

I have OCD. I never eat breakfast, but I do eat the same brunch meal every day...a plain sandwich with one slice of deli meat, a cup worth of lettuce on the side(must be heated), a medium golden delicious apple diced into bites, and a glass of water. My evening snacks alternate between the same indulgences too, either Hostess snack cakes, a 100 calorie pack of Cheez-it Snack Mix with one Keebler Soft Batch cookie and a Nature Valley PB granola bar, or Pop-Tarts.

We do have a variety of foods to prepare, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sometimes when there is more left over for dinner, that will be our lunch, but i will just add some fried fish or vegetable for a twist. During breakfast sometimes i do prepare chicken salami sandwich, sometimes i just boil water and prepare quaker oats and sometimes i boil eggs for breakfast or fry it and then eat it along with bread. During lunch, if not a left over, i prepare easiest way to cook food like canned sardines or mackerel then just mixed it with egg. On Dinner i usually prepare Chicken curry with fried fish and then hot rice and some vegetable salad with mango pickles.

On the week days I eat the same thing everyday for breakfast, usually instant cream of wheat with yogart or a piece of fruit. My lunch varys, sometimes its a salad, sandwhich, left overs from the previous nights dinner or a lean cuinise. Dinner varys too!

i think it's your right to eat what you want. i do not want the same thing to eat every day. i do like a variety. i eat the same thing every day till it's gone because i do not throw food away. it's not easy to cook for one & not have leftovers.

You're very conscientious about your food - we are too in our house. We hate to throw food away and so have leftovers all the time! Good for you - and thanks for the response!

I eat the same things often but not at the same time everyday. Now that you tell me that you only eat egg whites what do you do with the yolks? Just wondering

Excellent question! I buy liquid egg whites - you can get them in the dairy section in the supermarket. Thanks for the response!

I believe I have seen them but I have not pay much attention to them. Thanks for the info. I know there are lots of reasons why people avoid yolks. I am not sure what's yours but I wish you good luck with your diet

Are you eating those because of a diet regimen? I can't eat the same thing for more than a week. I get tired of things and foods easily. I need variety! I try to eat different foods every lunch but I wouldn't mind eating the same breakfast for a week... or two weeks at most. For dinner... whatever light meal is fine. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

No, as much as possible I want to have different meal everyday because I don't feel eating the same food everyday, it is good to have some varieties, but I eat rice everyday because my energy sagged every time I don't eat rice or anything that has carbohydrates.

That's very interesting that you have to eat rice to keep your energy up - I think it's great that you found the source of your energy. If we all could tap into our body's strength and find out which foods really make us get up and go we'd all be better people. Thanks for the response!

Hi deejean, Me too, I have a pretty similar thing for all daily-routines eating. For breakfast, normally I just drink a milk. For lunch, I have a vegetarian option, normally in sandwich. Whereas for dinner, I have option either eating burger, fish, or chicken. I eat these dishes with rice or french fries.

Mostly for my breakfast it is usually the same cranberry juice with toast and strawberry jam on it. If not that its cereal with bananna and strawbeery in my cereal. Lunch is always different but ususaly a frozen dinner entree.

I get tired of eating the same things all the time, so I have to have a variety of different foods, I am not a picky eater so its kind of easy to always have a variety. But my favorite is breakfast foods, alot of the time I will have breakfast food for lunch and even dinner.

Many people I know switch foods for different meals just like you do. I have a co worker who sometimes has spaghetti or hamburgers for breakfast - because it's just a meal! Thanks for the response!

here in india, we love to eat variety of food, for breakfast , lunch or dinner. every day we get up with a new menu for the taste buds. from indian curries to continental to chinese to thai, we try everything for food. we talk volumes of avoiding junk and rich food but end up eating them at the end of the day. try something different everyday. if not differnt, then change the recepie, you would enjoy.

I usually do have predictable meals just because it is easier that way. But then after awhile i have to break out and have something different. Almost every day I have either a breakfast bar or a yogurt cup for breakfast because it's easy. At lunch it's either a frozen dinner, soup or a sandwich. The only time that changes is when I have left overs or there is something really yummy in the cafeteria that day. I think having same or similar meals each day just gives me one less thing to think about. If I think about food too much, I end up spending forever trying to decide what to eat and then I usually end up eating the wrong thing. It's best to stick to a semi-planned meal schedule and then just add in a few things for variety every now and then.

Same here - predictable is just easier right now. It is best to have semi planned meals especially since I'm a working mom. And I do try to stick some variety in when I can... Thanks for the response!

This past week, my family almost had the same breakfast everyday. Peanut butter sandwich. But I did try to make a variety for our lunch and dinner. My husband isn't very choosy when it comes to his food but then, he still wishes to have a different meal each day. And I do make sure that we have a different meal everyday. That's why I make a food plan for the coming week.

I typically have the same thing for breakfast everyday. Mostly because it's quick and easy to make and eat. But, I will have different things for lunch and dinner. I probably could get by on eating the same thing everyday if it was something I liked.. like pizza :)
