Old Discussions ?

The Other day I replied to a discussion that looked interesting and it was only after I posted it, I noticed that it was from Two Years ago. Now, I was wondering, do I still get paid for that, even if it is an old discussion, and then what happens to the discussion after that. Does it stay current further up the list or sink down towards the bottom again. Perhaps some one could enlighten me a bit on this ?

Definitely you are paid for that as it is still a participation you have for the site which is what in the terms and guidelines. That we are being paid based on the participation that we have. Whether it is new or stone age, you still get what it is worth. The only thing that comes out of my mind is that, is there any difference in the payment scheme if you have replied before (if it is higher) than just recently? Well, let's not go in deeper into that since it is not allowed.

Jason you get paid for commenting too even though the post count does not go up. That's another thing I can confirm as I have seen it happen personally.

Thanks sirrob, for your help in this matter, I presumed that I would get paid as the post count went up, but wasn't too sure as most of the time the discussions I have answered always seem to be new ones or fairly recent. Happy MyLotting

I concur with Ms. D, sometimes the number goes down yet the payment is there too. It is what it is, that we are being paid based on our participation here.

Yes, we still get paid for our response to the discussion and it does bring it back up on the list of discussions. It is actually good to see some of those older discussions as it makes new members have a chance to answer them. I would like to see the first discussion that was ever posted here. I wonder if that person is still a member?

Thanks carolscash for your response, now you have said it, I too would be interested to see what the original post was here, what discussion started the whole process off. Perhaps mysdianait or sirrob from the above posts would know as they seem very informative on all these type of matters. Happy MyLotting

That is a hard labor to dig on but I remember one discussion before referring into this matter. Not sure either if the pioneer is still making the stuff.

I think it brings the old discussion back to life and it moves it towards the top again. I have answered old ones too and I do think for sure they pay for it.

Yes! I have had some of mine revived recently and I have been responding on old ones too (one was three years old with almost 900 responses!). I have been earning very nicely thankyou so we are definately paid for them. If they don't get deleted it makes no difference how old they are!

Thanks mysdianait, you hold so much information about the workings and goings on around here, its fascinating. So glad that they count, afterall it is still nice to get paid for them even after such a long time. Mind you, I don't know how you keep track of 900 responses, that must have been some real interesting discussion. Happy MyLotting

The one with 900 was not one onf mine (I should be so lucky!) I am pleased tosay the owner of the discussion did comment back even though it was soold - which is probably why it has so many responses n the first place. I share what I have discovered by trying things out myself. Basically as long as you're active, you earn. Respect those who respond to you on your own discussions and they come back and that means more friends as well as cash too Happy Lotting!

Yes, you still get paid. Your earnings only get taken away from replying to a discussion is if the discussion got deleted because it was against the rules. I don't reply to discussions older than a year, because I'm not sure if people would really want an old discussion to be bought up again..

Thanks pweety Princess for your reply. To be honest I never really thought about it, as I really on answer the most recent discussions, but this one just appeared out of the blue, and I had answered it without noticing the date until it had been posted. Happy MyLotting

I know what you mean. This one I replied to was I think a couple of years old, and I felt a right berk after typing my response, and thought that was a waste of time, but at least I now know that I get paid for it. Thanks for your reply, Happy MyLotting

There is nothing wrong if you respond to a very old discussion. What is important is that you like the discussion and you feel it's worth responding. I got responses to my old discussion and I love commenting to it. Have a ncie day and happy mylotting.

Thanks for responding, I am glad that it is okay to respond to the older ones once in a while as sometimes they can give a different perspective on things. Happy Mylotting

I think that often times you will see discussions recylcled if you hang around long enough. I guess that there are many things that you will see on my lot over and over if you hang around long enough. There are many things that are going to be on if you are ready to look at them over and over again. Just the site I guess.

Thanks snowy for your reply, and I agree with you about the recycle of discussions, although recently I have noticed that the same discussions seem to come round into circulation a lot more nowadays, or worse still the same discussion seems to be started several times in one day, with only slight modifications. Yes, you will still get paid for that. It is the special facility in mylot that you always get paid for your present activity. The discussion may be old enough but your response is taking place at present and hence for this present activity, you are paid.

We are paid for our participation here. So I guess how old a discussion can be is not at all a consideration. Sometimes, when an old discussion is revived it can attract other Mylotters to be interested in it and respond to it. At first I was hesitant because answering to old discussions seems to be walking to an empty room. Everyone had participated and there is no one there anymore. But based on feedback by the veterans here about responding to old discussions, I learned that no discussion would be too old to participate. And so I started participating to old discussions. What is nice is some of the discussion starters still comment back to their responses. To me that is so cool!

Hi friend, we can get paid for replying to the old topics too. Your topic is also an old one and created before 4 years. Some times we don't find interesting topics to reply, at this time we can search for old and interesting topics and place our replies to them, there is nothing wrong in such kind of activity
