Yes, it is true. The owner is selling SOP for $400 if the buyer wants to continue it as a PTP. Otherwise the price will be between $2000-$3000. Memebers are unlikely to be paid. It is sad to see SOP going under because it is going to affect a number of people. I was not active there because I had a feeling the site would not be able to sustain itself. Let us give support to this site so that it will not start moving in the same direction.

Hi rosdimy! I am not at all surprised by this news. I am not a member there but I have seen several discussions about it on here. I guess many people think that they can open a site and that's it these days. It takes business knowledge to run a business and make it work and we are not all business men so many are bound to be a flop. We are in the best place! Have a great day and happy Lotting!

Running a serious business is definitely not the same as running a lemonade stall. I guess many people, possibly including us, tend to over estimate our real capabilities. Maybe the owner should have made a more thorough preparation, especially on funding. That was what I perceived as lacking. There are people who disagree with you on myLot being the best site. They are entitled to their opinion(s). I was not active during the past week not because I felt there are much better sites. I had other pressing commitments.

I am very aware of may users here who would not agree with my opinion about myLot being the best. I have my reasons for deciding that it is. I joined almost two years ago and they have always paid on time. To those who complain that it is a slow earning site I suggest they look at what those that are getting paid every month are doing - they are not asking about favorite pizza toppings every week for sure! I did notice you were absent but so far I hadn't drawn any conclusions and I don't usually send a search party after only a week. Others here can confirm that I do after a longer break though

Search party? Thanks for the thought. Most probably it will be hard for you to find me as I am using different user names as I have my personal reasons for doing so. Do not worry, they are not related to cheating. Maybe you will have to use pizza to lure me out.

Yeah, this doesn't really surprise me. It was mildly unappealing and the discussion quality wasn't even close to that of Mylot so I didn't really join or stick around. I'm not sure it's even worth what they're trying to ask for it but knowing some people out there someone'll probably purchase it. Maybe a dedicated forum community member? Anyways. I might be interested! Will they sell it for $1? Then again, even buying it that cheap all the bills relating to it probably are more then the site owner was making or they were just barely breaking even, in otherwords. It's probably not worth the purchase even at $1 considering like you had mentioned that the site doesn't seem to have very good sustainability.

Yeah, I would rather build a site from scratch and build up my own reputation as compared to trying to fix someones past mistakes!

The main question is who is going to pay the members currently waiting for payment? There may also be other bills like hosting charges. SOP changed servers too early in its life, and that was the second thing that made me extremely cautious. With the negative views on SOP the current owner may not get a buyer, Even if I have the funds and resources I know it is not easy to regain the trust and confidence of the public. all the best, rosdimy

I've signed up on this site several months ago but was not really active there because I have signed up in many other sites as well. I'm actually planning to be active there but just waiting for some free time. I'm glad I was able to hear this news about this site. Hope members expecting for payout still be paid.

Based on the information that I received I think it is highly unlikely that pending payouts will be fulfilled. On the other hand I cannot predict the future. There is a slim hope. Maybe they should pray that the current owner gets the necessary funds to pay them. all the best, rosdimy

Sometimes I like to visit other sites to get the feel and make comparisons if there are any. Otherwise I cannot really say myLot as one of the best, if not the best. Whenever possible I try to experience things myself instead of just listening to what others say. Sometimes members or ex-members complain on another site but it was actually their fault. all the best, rosdimy

I tried it out for a few days and only made a few pennies so I will not weep if it goes. I am surprised on the amount of unsuccessful online paying websites there are. I guess between the expenses of running a website and the cheaters it is a difficult business model.

I cannot sayfor sure whether the problem faced by SOP is mainly due cheating activities and made worse by its financial standings, or purely due to cash flow problems. In theory running a forum or discussion site can be profitable but in practice there are many things which have to be taken into account. Cash flow and a minimum number of members are important. So are the topics allowed and target audience. To cap them all are cheaters and trolls which if unchecked xan cause the demise of a site even if it is initially financially strong. all the best, rosdimy

wow, I am kinda surprised to hear this information, but I am glad to have found out as well.. I signed up with the site last month and I have not been active there as it was harder to find my way around and get a feel for the site... but I figured I would give it time and then go back after I have a couple sites that I want to fit in my day... that is sad to hear, but thank you for the information as those of us who havent heard it yet wont waste our time there from now on. happy mylotting!!

I thought it would be better for members to know the updates on the site so they are more prepared when big changes happen to the site. I do not know everything about what is going on because I was never active on SOP, but I believe trusted news should be shared. At least those who want to continue with the site have a fair idea on the direction the site is moving to. all the best, rosdimy

This is of no suprise to me at all. I was a member of SOP for all of a few days and immediately had concerns about their ability to pay people, so gave up on it. They were also way too unstructured in their methods of dealing with people and their activity. I have no idea how many members there are today, but it was only in the few thousand at most while I was there. It takes great savvy to make a site such as that work as a PTP, so anyone that does decide to take it on has certainly got a challenge on their hands!

At the beginning a few people praise SOP and so I made the decision to have a look. I became a member with a number less than 600. After looking around I made the conclusion it may not last long. It is not the only one to have suffered this fate. Running sites like this requires an indepth knowledge and dedication. all the best, rosdimy
