it's sad that even though i am not a call center aspirant but i have to have my try in applying for one since most of the clerical jobs i've applied - well, i've been crossed out by the list of being a potential one. a friend somehow was kind enough to offer to help me get into Convergys - then i later found out through another friend that she will receive some amount if i place her as the referral (is this true? LOL) but somehow, agrees that Convergys indeed has good management and it pays good even if you're a noob. doesn't have a fix schedule. then, another friend told me that eTelecare is one good company too. doesn't have a fix schedule. friendly people. undergrads are wlecome of course. i don't know really. i have so many in my mind. but i am looking for call centers who have fix schedule. any ideas, guys?

The most popular call centers that I know are: convergys, teletech, sykes, etelecare, people support. Most of these call centers offered Graveyard shift jobs. There is a Australian call center name "Orchid" in Ortigas that offers a day shift schedule. You should try it if you don't like Graveyard shift

orchid, i havent' heard that yet. maybe it's not yet here in cebu. lol. but etel, convergys, sykes, teletech and people support are very competetive here. =)) thanks king.

Oh I thought you are in Manila. It is located in Ortigas and it is at the back of Robinsons Galeria.

It actually depends on your preferences. If you prefer to have higher pay, then convergys is the right choice but when it comes to the working environment, go for People Support. Schedules are not really much of an issue, because either way if you work in a call center you should be flexible to change since schedules are not really fixed (in most cases). You can also visit my blog and check my previous entries regarding call center life.

hi totallyundecided! n_n im currently working at etel here in manila, and the company is well.. pretty owkay.. ive been to 2 centers already, ICT and etel, and i liked etel better. the allowance is nontaxable and nytdifferential is 30% of ur basic salary, so ud earn almost the same as those companies offering a basic salary of 15k+. another thing that u may wanna look into aside from the company is the account that they service. for example, when i was with ict, the account is bank/financial one, so aht (number of minutes per call) required is 3mins. so u get about 90+ calls per shift, which was exhausting. now when i moved to etel, i know there is a 6mos bond, but if youre enjoying the people ur working with, u wont even notice it. (been here for 1 yr 8mos now). and after that 6mos bond, if u perform pretty well, u get a bonus amounting to around 15k, going back, when i moved here, the account was sprint, it was queing also, but aht is 7mins, and there are several aux (petiks ) time for training etc. so i kinda enjoyed staying here. but when sprint moved out, and another account came in, which is also queing and so strict, well, im planning to move out and try my luck on a different company or account. the point is, no matter what we say here, its only YOU who would be able to decide which is the best call center, and ud only know that once ur there. coz sometimes, its not the basic salary, allowances, peers, commision etc that would matter, sometimes its something else and you have to experience it. goodluck with ur jobhunting@!

Hello! Convergy's is one of the best call center here in the Philippines. They are good in managing their employees. If you don't want to work at Convergy's you can try Sykes, Teletech or Transcom. They are also good, most of my classmates are working in that company.

I have no idea... since i never worked as a call center agent before... but i think you should try out one... and if you do not like it... just transfer to the other one... i think you will get more salary if you have like six months experience... and it wouldn't hurt you to try...

Well there are many online. TO my understanding most of them will let you work when you want. I have thought about doing the call center thing myself but I do not have a home phone anymore. I could add it to my time warner plan but than I am not sure that the job will cover the cost plus make me profit. I am online a lot of times anyway and I have excellent phone skills so maybe I should. I would just keep looking online for a company that you like and roll with it. Take care and happy mylotting to you.

Hmmm lets see, I have worked for JCPenny Credit Card Services which is now GE Capital, Ceridian, Verizon, Hilton Reservations and Coleman. However there are also Chase, Bank of America, West, Liveops, Brighthouse (and most cable companies), Virtual Assistants, Disney Reservations.....Thats all I can think of as of now. As far as a fixed schedule goes they usually offer them to you after your training and you have been there, most of the ones I have seen and worked for offer you to choose between a few set schedules and then go from there. Sometimes the set schedules are overnight or really crappy ones but they still offer them.

i haven't tried to work in a call center yet. i know a lot of call centers in metro manila. i planned to try working in TELETECH but i had a problem that caused me to ignore it. i also know the call center of mr ayala. one of my friends is working there. she said that it is great to work there because she has been offered a big salary. she once told me that her salary can payoff her family's food allowance for 4months. i just don't know if what she said was true but it is mr. ayala that she had been working for.
