My Daughter Went To Prison Today!

Yes my daughter, (Minnie on myLot) went to prison today. I got the email informing me of this a little while ago. tHERE WAS A PHOTO ATTATCHED AS WELL BUT IT WAS JUST A PHOTO OF THE ENTRANCE TO THE PRISON WAS ALL. She goes to California with our 6 month old grand daughter then goes to prison. Unreal. Well let's see now....the prison she went to is ALCATRAZ! 
On her visit with a family friend out there they went on the tour of the Alacatraz Prison Sunday morning. I would love to see that myself. She is taking photos if possible. But she has to pay for the internet on her cell phone pout there so I have to wait till she returns next week. Just wanted you all to know that she went to prison this morning.

Oh I've been there!! I didn't get to see the place from the inside but I did from the shore and it is fantastic to see!! Your daughter is couragous to go inside because I hear that there's a lot of moaning and such that goes on inside because of ghosts who inhabit the place. That's why I didn't go to see the inside, out of fear!! lol I know, I know, I can be such a chicken at times but I wasn't taking any chances!! lol

I was reading your post before I realized who it was. So I immediately thought someone on my friend's list had a daughter in jail! I've been to California a number of times (I lived near San Jose for 2 years), but I've never been to Alcatraz. When I was ten my family was near it on vacation, but we heard that a person has to make reservations way in advance. I don't know how they do it now.

I love the reactions when I do a discussion along the lines of this humor type in a sense. Too funny. She is also going to the Golden Gate Bridge and who knows where else. I can't wait for all the photos. But I am still waiting for photos she took at my house on Christmas day.

You had me going for a minute! I was just thinking about what's happening to your 6 month old grand-daughter, when I read further that it was Alcatraz!

I wanted to go there when I was in San Fran, but it's a good thing I didn't. I'd have never made it up all the steps you have to climb from the dock to the prison!! We took the tour boat through the bay. Was like being in a sardine can up on deck, so three of us sat in the dining area and looked out the windows while a fourth went up on deck. He had to hold the camera above his head to take pictures because there were so many people he couldn't get near the railing. Yeah - I liked it, but I'll stay in the galley, thanks!! LOL Some day though, I'll get up to Alcatraz. Somehow.

She did mention her boat left early.
Now I do believe she went inside though as she is healthy enough for that. Unreal, but I imagine it is a huge tourist attraction.

just the sound of it scares me. i stay as far away from any prison as i can get.i know it is intresting but i really do not like to think of what happen to some people there.

Hi! Grandpa Bob!! Very funny!!! I thought that she went to prison because of a bad crime or so! You really had me and possibly others going on this one!! Isn't the ALCATRAZ an old prison? Is it considered to be haunted? I think that the Charmed sisters visted this prison on their show. I think that this prison has a history and legend to it. I am glad to know that Minnie enjoyed her visit to prison. I hope that she had fun.. I think that is is exciting to visit a prison as a tour..

Yes it is an island prison nicknamed "The Rock". It was considered to be unescapable. For many years each escape attempt was thwarted by gaurds or by the prisinors drowning etc. It is also noted to be supposedly haunted by inmate spirits. Theres a lot opf movies out about it and one very noted one is "Birdman of Alcatraz".

You really gave me a scare, Grandpa! Don't do that again. I knew she had flown with your granddaughter to CA, but it wasn't registering on me what you were talking about at the time!! Something that she's getting to view Alcatraz. She'll have lots to show and tell when she gets back home.

Oh my god, I thought she went for a vacation and got arrested or something. You scared me for a while. But nice to know she is enjoying herself and making strange acquaintences too. Do not mind few more cents or dollars atleast she is in touch with you. You are one heck of a father to be so pleased of your kid going to prison(sound proud too)

Oh you are so silly. You had me there for a second. My husband went there a few years ago. He thought it was really cool. He was there on a business trip, so I did not get to go, but they finished up with all of their meetings early on the last day and he and another guy he worked with decided to go see Alcatraz.

How much does a tour cost anyhow?
My daughter did not mention it cuz the friend is paying I bet.

How exciting, sounds like she is having a good time. I would be interested in taking a tour of Alcatraz, where the birdman was. I bet that is an interesting tour. I can only imagine how it looks inside. It is nice that she was able to get away for a little while. I know you are missing her and Savanna, be patient, they will be home soon.

i could not imagine how was the life of people who had been imprisoned there before. i know that this is used only now as a tourist attraction. wish to be there too. i just wonder about the situation of people been there before. did they have a hard time being so isolated from the world. do they like their view from there seeing the wide vast of ocean surrounding them. it must be defeaning at night to hear the sound of ocean and the waves. and it could be hard for them to be such a hard place.

It was one of the worse prisons in the US in it's so called hay days. They actually almost stopped the tourism as well due to the repairs it needed to be considered safe. But a lot of private citizens donated a fortune for it to remain open for tours. A huge money maker for the State of CA.

It is really a nice way to take the things forward grandpa bob!! It just takes out the nerves when you say your daughter went to prison. But it is really nice that she just went to see the prison and not because of any criminal offense.
