Hi all I am doing the 30h famine for world vision on april 3-4! I am amaized at how little support I am getting! I have posted teh link for sponcers everywhere and have only recieved 1 donation! I cant believe it! How Little people really support others! I try to do what I can for charity. Now it is upsettin at how little people really care!

I think people care, but it's hard to trust people these days. I know I personally donate only to causes I have thoroughly researched and know that they are valid. And I usually give my time rather than, or in addition to, money. Especially online, there are so many people out to make a quick buck, and to take money from people, that it's just not smart to trust someone you don't know personally. I'm sorry you are having problems getting donations... maybe you should try starting with your friends and family, or other local people.

I just wanted to add... I do think it's a wonderful thing you are doing, and I do hope you get donations. I was just trying to explain why it might be hard to do.

It is not that people do not care. Well i can speak for my self anyway. We have been with out work since October, and do not have any extra money right now. we are almost through our savings, and have cut back to the bare essentials. My internet is the next to go. We have all ready lost the cable, and our cell phones, we no longer get our garbage picked up we have to take it to the dump ourselves. Our heat is kept at the lowest possible setting and we are using the fire place for heat when needed. It is a good thing that my garden did good last year because most of what we are eating is the stuff that i froze, or canned. But we are still doing great with what we have. Their is just not anything extra right now for charity. I give and help out when and where i can. It is just not possible right now.

Wow I am sorry to hear about your struggles. I pray that things turn around for you. I wasnt really talking about people that dont have it to give. I was more talking about people that have it to give but dont. I asked a few people that I know are very well off and they turned me down. Ya know what its the people like yourself that did give! I always find that its the people that dont have alot that give! I understand your situation I have been there. I have been to the point I had no phone, cable, electricty, heat, food. I pretty much had nothing. But now I have everything that I need. By no means am i rich except rich in heart.
I have two children and we have just enough money to get by. I dont have savings in the bank! I live paycheck to paycheck. But we are happy.
Things will get better for you! Just pray! GOD WILL PROVIDE!

I know the feeling.
I've been trying to raise money for a victim of Hurricane Katrina, she's been suffering far too long since the government wouldn't help her.
I managed to raise $13. It's really disappointing knowing that people don't care.
