Can any of you give me advise on buying a new monitor for the computer, we want at least a 19 inch. We have walmart and costco here to choose from. Or should we buy over the internet? Help if you can.

I think you can try to buy samsung LCD monitor or ACER LCD monitor. I prefer LCD to TFT because of the small effects with our health, and also small power to use. But the consequense is the price is not as cheap as TFT monitoy. But now TFT and LCD price are nearly same... I just give my opinion, the final choose is in ur own... That's all from me...tq... Make mylot the best...TQ...

When my monitor went out a while back I bought a used monitor at the Goodwill store for 5 bucks and it works just fine. I'm happy with the monitor and didn't have to pay a arm and a leg for it either. So you might want to check Goodwill if you have one near by or local flea markets may have them as well.

I think the best thing to do is to go around and try to compare prices from different places. It's also good to check online but then you'd also have to think about shipping costs. I think the normal price range for a good 19" lcd monitor would be $100-$200. It depends on what you are looking for. If it's a widescreen 19" monitor with a good brand and a pretty good resolution, it might cost you around $150-$200 depending on what brand.

I think if you stick with agood brand name you shouldn't have a problem. Try www. newegg.com - I've bough several things there and they are reliable. If you buy from a site that does not have a store in your state, you avoid the sales tax - at least that's what I'm told and so far I've found it to be true. I recently bought a HannSpree monitor and it seems to be good.
