Actually they can get me in jail as according to the new penal code sending SMS that create panic represent felonies and are punished with jail from 3 to 6 months or with a penalty. Do you have such a law in your country ? I think this is a bit ridiculous...

Wow I do hope we can have that kind of a law too. I guess there is also same dilemma that we are facing in here spreading rumors about creating panic. One thing I am curios about that is how to implement that since SMS is just hard to trace because it could easily spread from one cellphone to another. Tracing who the real author is hard to come by especially in our country it is easy to get an anonymous number and send from that number to spread the panic text. I hope your government has such technology to track who the original sender is.

What I'd like to ask our brilliant leaders that created the penal code is how do you measure the possibility of creating panic? If I may paraphrase Edd (from Ed, Edd'n Eddy): We are surrounded, but, most of all, led by idiots!

To be frank, I think this is a strange law. Sending SMS won't be harmful for everybody, except for sending the cheating SMS. So I don't understand why the law will ban it. Here it's totally no problem to send SMS. I love China

Woah! Really? I havent heard of this law and I dont think we have this kind of law in our country. It is probably a nice move to stop the panic and other malicious acts done by people who love to make other people panic. Still I think this will be hard because sometimes a simple message is just part of a joke intended only between friends. Though being jailed for 3-6 months or with a penalty is a bit over the top just for sending an SMS message. They have to revise that punishment to something that is more fitting.

I'm not fully aware of any such law in Australia, but I'm sure there'd be provisions for it. You're in a lot of trouble if you do it in Egypt though, this I DO know! It may seem ridiculous I guess, but we should also never underestimate the power of the viral effect and SMS is one such medium that can allow for messages to be spread very, very quickly. Now why the heck didya have to go and make me go all serious for? For God's sake, just don't go sending SMS messages around the place telling people that the panda's are spanking back, OK. If you did and people panicked, for all that time you spent in jail, I wouldn't be able to make silly comments on the pics you share with us and that just wouldn't be fair at all.

I'm hoping that the circumstances where this is possible would only be when you're supposed to be in full control of a car and concentrating on your driving? or would it be the content of the text messages someone would be receiving that would be the cause of any arrest?

Oh i did not know this, there are such rules too? but i think it should be in my country too. my country has freedom for almost everything lol. i wish i had this restriction here, no its not that ridiculous i think because then one is safe from getting some panic messages, which are really frustrating sometimes.
