When you wana buy a pc, would you go to shop to choose a brand computer,or have a DIY. Someone said that a brand machine would offer good service, and others said DIY would get better hardware and good quanlity computers. what your choice and have you ever DIY? sharing your experience!

I typically build all my PCs. The only exceptions are laptops since your options are extremely limited with regards to DIY projects. Branded PCs aren't altogether bad, but they come in shoddy cases and sometimes use proprietary power switches, motherboards, and Power supplies that are a massive pain to replace if something goes wrong. Also, branded PCs have only 1 year warranties. When you build your own, you can choose parts that have 3 year, 5 year, and sometimes lifetime warranties.

Not me because i cannot assemble my own computer but my hubby does. He was the one who assembled our desktop computer. It is an advantage because he was the one to pick up all the needed and wanted materials for a greater performance of a computer. And whenever i have problems, he will be the one to solve and fix our computer so no need for a computer technician to come and repair it. The only thing we haven't assembled yet is the laptop, although we have one, it was already bought at a branded name with complete requirements of OS included into it. Happy Mylotting!

well I do both, I built my laptop and one of my desktop's myself and built it to the exact specification that I wanted. Where as if you buy a pc you cant really configure it untill you have bought it. Tho my desktop in my kitchen is a touch screen HP which I bought as a complete unit tho that will be upgraded in a few months time as its really only the kids that use that pc to surf and to watch tv on. I also upgrade my pc its easy when you know how, and also do a pc health check as companies rip you off doing health checks when they can easily be done by yourself in about 30 mins.
