Highway Robbery

I saw a film on the BBC news site today that showed a pair of drug dealers throwing hundreds of dollars out of their vehicle during a car chase with the Police. As the cash hit the road, other road users stopped and started to run all over the highway picking up the cash! Would you stop your car on the highway for the chance of some easy money?

No, for two reasons. 1. I would be too afraid of being hit by someone who decided not to stop. 2. The police would take it away anyway, so what would be the point?

No probably not. For one thing I'd most likely be seen and have to give it back and for another it isn't worth getting killed over.

Certainly isn't worth dying for. One woman was walking about completely oblivious to the traffic. How she survived I don't know.

I would collect it and wait for the cops to come back and get it. To cover my rear end, I would use my cell phone to call the cops and tell them I have the cash and will be waiting to give it to them. I couldn't keep it, I'd have trouble sleeping. However, if money fell from the sky into my yard I would love to gather it up and hope nobody claimed it!

Heck know..Knowing my clumsiness I would be road kill. I would not take the chance of ending my life for a few dollars. Now if I was the only one around besides the cops and the one being chased yes I would think to pull over grab some and get gone.

Are you nuts? LOL That many cops around, some idiot would see me picking up the money, and involve me in the crime somwhow. My husband and I found $20 on the floor of the groccery store one day, and turned it into the lost and found. It's better to give the money back, than to possibly get involved.

Thank heavens that there are still some honest people about. Over here, if no one claims it then they let you have it after a certain number of days or weeks I think.

Heck yeah, if everyone else grabbing it might as well get my share. But mind you if the on the interstate it might be a bit difficult running between the cars. Wonder how long it would take the cops to get there to stop the people once they got it off the street and took off could they find out who has picked it up, I did see just this kind of thing on a news show one day, they said people who stopped got away with thousands of dollars, guess there was no way to catch them.

No chance. I value my life too much. It's not my money anyway and if it came from someone's misery then I definitely don't want to be associated with it. XXXX

It would be temtping, but I do know that when the police do raids and stuff everything, including the money is evidence. ANd I would not want to take the chance. Plus, how do those people know that the bills were not marked? It could have been a sting operation where they mark the bills....too chancy. It's not the same thing as walking along and you find a hundred bucks...if I know the police are chasing dealers...like I said it would be tempting..

I suspect that the money is registered someplace and that the police would trace it eventually.

Definitely, especially now that money is really hard to find. I wouldn't want to miss that opportunity. The reason that this trick is still used is because it works.

I guess so. But there was a very real risk that someone would get killed. Money isn't worth that.

haaaaaaaa. Oh, my god! i dont think that this is good idea to make some money. If you want to make cash by this way, you will have more chance to meet police.
@p1kef1sh (45681)

Indeed. I agree completely.

thanks for agreeing my opinion. It seems to be crazy idea. Haaaaaaaa. Even if i have a chance of choice to make cash by this way, i also want to hold it. It is not money. Money will bring more risk if we are not owner. I love my life so much.

Yes, I would stop on a highway to pick up some easy money. It happens once in a life time to have that chance to have money as easy as that. I know it is dangerous but, money is pouring out who am I to ignore it. I am quite sure that everyone on that incident would do the same thing. I've only seen it in movies. I want to bve part of it someday.

There were more people driving by than stopping. Those that did stop could so easily have been killed.

I think I will stop my car on the highway and pick those cash, but the point is I may not take it for myself. I had experience I picked a wallet on the street, some friends of mine was with me at the moment and they some said I should take the money and throw the wallet into a rubbish bin as many people would do the same, but I insisted to go to police station which is very far from the place I found that wallet. I gave the wallet to the police station. Maybe there's no much money in the wallet, I just don't know if there's a lot of money in the wallet, maybe I would be greedy when I saw the large amount of money, who knows? I am a coward, I am too afraid to violate the law that so I will not take the money, but that doesn't mean I won't want that money. ^.^
@p1kef1sh (45681)

Needing and wanting are different things entirely. You do the tight and good thing by not breaking the law. Thank you.

How I wish it can be done in real life here in my place. I would be the first to run after it. In my country, robberies occurs but never did they throw nor leave their stolen money.
