Do you ever get the feeling.....

Do you ever get the feeling that some people arent really reading your discussions? The feeling that all they are doing is reading the title and just posting a quick responce! Well how do you think those people would feel if nobody read all of their post and just posted a quick responce based on what the title says. They wouldn't like it very much I don't think! When I make a discussion I want real responces from people! I want to have a genuine conversation about something on here or get real answers to my questions! Do you ever notice people doing this type of thing?

Yes, I definitely do get that feeling sometimes. Sometimes people just want to get something off their chest even if it isn't specifically about what I addressed in my post. Then there are those people perhaps can't be bothered to read posts but write quick responses anyway for the money; people who use the site that way are missing out on some great discussions, I think. I don't think most myLotters are guilty of posting without reading, though.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. It's about money.

I only had one discussion and it got zapped, but I appreciated the answers I got for the most part. I know what you mean about wanting people to read your discussion, because you took valuable time to write it out you would like a valid response... but since many are here for the cash they can get they can't leave long responses and make decent payout at the end of the month... that is how I think about it. I only made a few cents so far, but I have tried to give good answers where I could.

Your posts and answers are about the right length. A person who posts real answers earns more than one who drops in one line answers to everything. I also wonder, now that I think about it, if some of the problem is that people read, but do not understand English very well. It makes it hard for them to be on topic. At least they are trying.

Friend if your post or discussion is good and helpful then visitors will really read it and post the comment which will be helpfull as i get many comments related to topic i don't think that people just write comment with out reading the post "So,if you find our this problem then you should check your comments and if you have some multi knowledge you can know who is reading or not reading and who is posting comment after reading post" "Its too easy to find, but i don't feel like you"

It happened on one discussion I started during the week. Several of those who responded only read the title and responded without reading further. It's their loss, they dthe rest of it. I do comment back to them alland I pointed it out to some who then came back a carried on with responding to the rest. Oh we can't win 'em all!

No not that I know of. Based on the discussions I started, I make it plain simple language but with catchy words to make the readers want to read to the end. I will distort the title a bit which does not entirely correspond with the contents of my posts. They will be confused and need to read the whole discussion from beginning to the end to be able to grasp the real meaning of the post. By only reading the title it does not make sense and will not be able to hit the bullseyes with their responses. I have not come across so far with people not reading the whole discussions. I don't want the responders to hit and run with their responses.

Of course! Most of the time...sometimes they are so off the topic that I can't make sense of the thread anymore...lol. I even had a good laugh one time ( I would have loved to tell you but the person who wrote it might see this and kill me:). I can't really blame them if their motivation is money...as my boss says..."At the end of the day, we need money."...How I hate those words.

P.S. I wasn't thinking really of the discussions I've started but was thinking of the discussions that I've read...lol. Oooopsss. I think I put my foot into my mouth this time...lol.

There are different kinds of people here. There are people who would have readily responded immediately "Yes I get feeling.Thank you" by just reading the starting line of yourdiscussion. This breed is plenty here. The seasoned mylotters know what they are doing. And some mylotters frighten us with their miles long discussion which make us run away immediately.Well to sum it up this is an interesting place.

So far in my meager discussions, I did not get anything like that and I am so happy that people who drop by in my discussion had given me wide range of comments. On the other hand, I have encountered so many discussions as well with response/s that just what you are trying to point out here. I also read some discussion like this, telling their frustrations to other who just drop comments with reading the content of the whole discussion itself.

I try not to take it too personally. There are times though, when I read a response to a discussion and am just dumbfounded by the response. I have to stop and wonder what the heck are they actually reponding to, because it has nothing to do with my topic of conversation. But, on the other hand, since most of the time I post responses, I have seen discussions where the poster isn't really clear on what they are asking or their post is jumping around in 3 or more subjects. Most of the time I won't respond, I'll just go to a different thread. But, if part of the discussion catches my eye, I may just repond to that part.

Yes there are folks that don't read things through but then they get their fur standing up because they don't read through your answer to them. People read what they want to. Some folks are just in it for the money. Me? I try to add something to anything I answer. I also try to keep my own discussions going.

I always get the feeling I'm being watched by the government...lol something like that? I seen one of those responses earlier today on someone elses discussion, but I'm not going to give details just in case they read this, but I dont really think those people would care, they're obviously here for the earnings not for the posting so they probably figure "whatever I'm getting paid for this discussion whether they read it or not"

i don't really know and i don't care much. everything i wanted to ask i put in the title. i just put a little detail in my questions cause i think just my subject or heading is already understandable. but i read the whole discussion of other mylotters whose topic i want to answer.

I can honestly say that I haven't posted a discussion on here... but I don't read the thread of responses all the time. I chose the discussions I'm going to read by the title, then read what the original person (inthis case theonerm5) has to say... and respond from that.... is how I handle it.

Absolutely! Pankkz posted a discussion asking if there are any people with real intelligence on mylot, because a large majority seem to be discussing small, trivial, daily problems instead of stimulating, deep discussions, or topics relating to something more highbrow than the latest off-color joke. Perhaps he didn't see the profile page, which creates a filter to find more of the desired discussions, but the problem arose from the responders. Several of the female responders failed to read to the middle of the paragraph, where he mentioned emotional and physical problems. They completely "went off" on him, complaining of his "high-minded" attitude that was prejudiced against those of limited education. That is the real problem. Too many people fail to read the comments fully. I will probably hear from the responders I referred to, because they may see or hear of this discussion. I will stand by my comment, not because I think there are stupid people on mylot, but because not reading a comment fully is stupid. There are no stupid people, just people who do stupid things.

What many people do not realize, especially newer folk, is that the longer more substantial responses get more earnings. They think that it is imperative to get a quick answer in and move on to another discussion. What they do not realize is that they earn less that way, and they alienate people who could read their discussions in return, and help them earn. If they are too off topic, or rude, someone will report them for it, as well. I just might report them, for instance, if I think they are not respectful of you, and do not answer on topic. As MsD said, we cannot win them all. You will learn to really appreciate the honest contributers on the site.

I think that sometimes people do read the discussions and sometime they dont. There are some discussionst hat are really worth reading and some that are just too long. I read most of the discussions that I post to, but I probably do not read them word for word. That just takes too long.

Although I am a new mylotter, I am disgusted with someone who just post a quick response based on what the title says. If I create a new discussion, indeed I want to read some real answers about my focus.I will add comments for every good answer I think. But I also know that not everybody could give you a serious response.I don't care
