I find it absolutely boring Mabel! There hadn't been a day when I had loved it. But its a necessity and we have to do it anyway. Hanging it when its still wet is a good way for synthetic clothes. but i always wear cotton and trust me that adds to it!

I have heard a rumour about neatly folding up your clothes in your drying machine and when they come out they have no wrinkles at all! Or was it fold them up and put them in your washing machine? I am sorry, I don't know for sure.
A friend of mine once told me. If you are interested in this theory I could ask her the next time I see her. She says it works miracles. I personally haven't tried it yet as I still live at home and do help with a lot of chores but ironing is not one of them

I would have to get back to you on that one as I really have forgotten about the details. I'll be sure to ask her next time I talk to her and then check in to post what I have found out. I do remember that she said it was a great way to prevent ironing for a lot of different types of clothes and different kind of fabrics.
Hopefully I will be able to tell you soon, take care!

I never ironed in my life, I just bought perma press clothes and I let them tumble dry in the dryer after I washed them and I hung them up right away. I never bought clothes that required dry clean only either.

Instead of hanging the clothes damp I hang them from the dryer when the dryer has cooled down. What I mean I have a cloths dryer that has a permanent press cycle if you take the clothes out when they are hot they wrinkle faster or they may have wrinkles in them but if you wait until the temperature of the air comes down then I hang them there is no wrinkles.

Hello my friend riyasam Ji,
I understand "parenting" is a toiugh, but once you think it religiously from bottom of
your heart, I am sure you will enjoy. School going Children should look smart all round
Then only they will behave smartly at the school and later in tehir lives. May god
bless you and have a great time.

I hate Ironing, I will throw my clothes in the Dryer, if they are really wrinkled I will Iron them but it won't be that many I usually take my Clotes right out of the Dryer, and hang them up. That way the wrinkes will fall right out.

This is one core I hate too.I notice when I put the clothes in the dryer ironing becomes a cumbersome task. When its hand washed I try not to wring it out too much just put them to dry so that the wrinkles are minimum. When I was in the boarding I remember we used to fold our clothes and keep it under the pillow before we sleep and the next morning we will just wear it without ironing it.I don't remember if it was neat enough to wear. But we just did that.Since all of us used the same method we never found it strange.I never tried this method now.

hi
its the same here-even i hate ironing my clothes-at home either my mother does it or i give it to laundry-mostly laundry. but the problem comes when i m sailing onboard ship, which being my bread n butter-i have to do it atleast 7-8 months in a year-unfortunately there is neither my mom or any laundry out there-so i follow the same technique that u do-i hang my clothes in wet condition on a hanger-though it takes longer to dry up-but u usually get ur clothes in comparatively wrinkle free manner.

Hi Riya,
Lol, thanks to my hubby, it is his department. He loves to do the same so no hassle for me. He is very particular on this and not happy with me on this work (if his dress is not ironed properly his boss may ask the same). If he doesn’t have time to do it he will give to laundry people. Like you I also hate this job.

I don't like to iron. So I cheat. If something is a bit wrinkled, I just toss it into the dryer for a few minutes. Presto, no more wrinkles. It can be a bit of a time saver too. That way I can multitask. Get rid of the wrinkles, and take care of the kids.

Well, I also dislike ironing and will avoid it at all costs. I try to buy clothes that do not require alot of ironing, hang most items in the closet, and the best way to get rid of wrinkles I find is about 10 minutes in the dryer and that should do it.

I HATE ironing…this and washing clothes by hands are the two most back-breaking tasks for a woman. I do neither of them anymore…
I have seen no matter how straight you hang them, they do not look straight at all once they are dry. And then there are the office clothes…my salwars and hubby’s pants and shirts…men’s clothes require more stiff ironing I guess. I cant handle them…I send them to the neighbourhood guy who does all the ironing. He charges me Rs. 2.50 per piece and on any given day, its like Rs. 40 to 50 for thee of us. It comes to tidy bill at the end of the week no doubt, buts its one thing I have adjusted in my monthly budget but I will not strain by back doing that.

You could always move out of the city and live in the forest! Clothes could be replaced with leaves and animal skins and you'd never have to worry about ironing ever again.
If this isn't an option, in the past I've found that hanging shirts in the bathroom while I have a hot shower can help reduce wrinkles too. There are also certain fabrics you can buy that wrinkle less than others.

I'm totally with you, I HATE ironing! I bought an iron when I moved out of home and I think I haven't even used it five times yet.
To avoid having to iron, I believe it's all in the way you hang your washing out. If you hang your washing out neatly, the wrinkles will pretty much fall out of most things. Then, when you take your washing in once it's dry, make sure you fold everything before you put it in the basket. As soon as you get inside, you must hang things up and put things away neatly in the drawers, don't let them get wrinkled.
This works well for me, most of my every day clothes and my uniforms (vet scrubs) never need to be ironed.
ORYou can do what my late Grandmother did and take your washing off the line, fold it and place it on the lounge and under mattresses for other people to iron when they sat down or while they sleep at night.
She did this for years and swore by it, she thought it was funny how she got other people to do her ironing for her and they didn't even know it! My grandmother was quite the eccentric and I'd love to pass this tip on to everyone around the world!

I'm with you I can not stand to iron. Sometimes I can't get to the clothes at the time the dryer decides to end b/c I'm busy doing something else or at times I just leave them in there until I get to them. I decided to try one day to turn the dryer on alittle before I was ready to hang the clothes. I found out that the heat ironed them for me lol. It works even better if you take things out like underwear and socks stuff you fold and no one sees that its wrinkled anyway then the other clothes have more room to move around. The worse thing you can do is stuff them into a laundry basket b/c your just creating more wrinkles. I also don't buy things that need ironing. Like those cute little plaid skirts and shorts I know those will be a pain in the butt no matter what so I don't buy them and if someone gives it to my girls I go exchange it. Thats how much I hate ironing lol.

Like you ironing is my most dreaded chore. What I do is to use those hangers with big hooks on both ends and dry my laundry in them under the hot sun. I will fold the cloths nicely once dried and still warm. They will be as good as freshly ironed.

I have noticed that if I dry smaller loads of clothing that things come out with fewer wrinkles. Also the wrinkle release sprays that you can buy do a pretty decent job on mild wrinkles. line drying is also great, the breeze makes most items look freshly pressed, and if you can't line dry outside turning on a fan pointed at the hanging clothes has the same effect.

my drying nachine is too small to put the clothes folded neatly into it.how does your friend ever do it???
