Do you like driving at night

Driving at night - I'm more comfortable driving during the daytime

I really do NOT like driving at night. The darkness, the constant flashes of light, oncoming traffic headlights and visibility problems makes it a lot more stressful. Sometimes the traffic is a lot lesser, but I do prefer daytime driving. This is applicable to both highway trips and driving inside the city. What do you prefer

Hi Pistop, neither do I. I have bad night vision, but I find that highways that are well lit are not so bad. If it's raining, then it will be terrible.

What is the reason for your bad night vision? And you're right - rain can be a killer.

I don't know why - could it be lack of beta carotene? I've had bad night vision since young.

Driving at night used to not bother me at all. Now I don't care for it, and I won't unless I absolutely have to. I had cataract operations a few years ago, and they put in new lenses. Since then I can no longer drive at night because the glare that hits the eye is so much brighter now, and when light hits these implants, the lights get fragmented and it's almost painful (as well as dangerous!) I don't mind daytime at all, but night driving now gives me a headache (to say the least lol)

Oh yeah! It definitely did make my eyesight better. I had to wait almost 2 full years after they started developing before they got 'ripe' where they could do the surgery. (I got them from chemotherapy & steroids during treatments) Before I couldn't see far away, and now I only have to wear glasses for reading fine print...pretty good! I still miss night driving tho lol. Have a wonderful day!

Dear friend, I do like to drive at night provided there is no much traffic and also no much rush and a good road. Moreover I would like to listen to music while driving especially during the night. But the road should be clear. I enjoy driving.

I love driving period. I usually have the kids take turns bringing their cameras and let them take random pics...I have a TON on my computer or all kinds of things, train tracks, shoes, the back of the seat and so on. I like driving at night and during the day. I like driving at night and having the windows down with the air blowing in. Its nice to look up at the moon, or sometimes follow it. I like the daytime driving because its so warm and you can feel the sun beaming on you. Then there is driving in the rain. My kids especially love that. We all roll our windows down and stick our hands out. We have some memorable moments while driving.

I do not like driving at night. I think it is not safe to do this. I would avoid going out at night. Without the light, car accident can happen in some dangerous places. So my suggestions is not to drive at night. I know som people like driving at night because they think this is romantic. In my opinion, we can be romantic in other ways instead of these. We shoule take the safety into consideration.

I hate driving at night. I live in a rural area so I am worried about what might be crossing the road. I have hit deer in the past and it breaks my heart. I relaly don't like the fact you can't see further in the distance. I do drive at night but i really hate it.

i dont mind driving at night..the traffic is much lesser. i think because of this people on the road tend to drive faster so sometimes it's scary if you're on the fast lane when this kind of things happen at night.

i much prefer driving during the day. the glare from the headlights at night bother me and i am just not a night person period. i prefer being out and about during the daylight hours only. night takes on a whole other feeling. like all the mischievous and dastardly types come out then. driving in the dark is way different than driving in the daylight.

I'd rather drive in the daytime because I seem to be losing my night vision, especially my depth perception. I worry about pulling out in front of someone, thinking that they're farther away than they are, and getting hit. Since I can see better during the day and judge distances better, I'd much rather drive then.

I like driving very much and it does not matter if its day or night. But I prefer less traffic and driving on highways rather than in congested cities.

I hate driving at night or in the rain. In our area there are deer and driving at night makes it more riskier. I came real close to hitting one a few months ago. I hate driving in the rain also because thats when accidents are more likely to occur and thats when my last accident happened.

I don't mind driving through the city in the dark although there is always bound to be some idiot driving around with their full beams or their fog lights on. This is very hard on the eyes especially in wet weather. I am living in the middle of the countryside and I try to avoid going out in the dark. It is very stressful and dangerous. Some of the farmers here will take out their old tractors with broken lights and maybe a big digger with sharp blades trailing out of the back of it. I am always terrified that I will drive into a ditch when I meet them on the road. Thankfully, the bright evenings are coming in now. There will be twice as many tractors on the road but at least I will be able to see them.

I hate to drive when it is dark. I think I have night blindness. Especially when it has rained or is raining. Reflections are killer. I get confused and not alittle nervous. Neon signs are no fun either. I don't care for either highway or city driving during these times. Sometimes I just have to and I buck up and try to concentrate and do the best I can but just for short distances.

Hi! although I do not drive. But I think its okey to drive at night. As you mentioned, traffic is lesser, and you can go to your destination faster. Especially, if we are going to the province, we usually start our travel at night time. A travel time of 5-6 hours at day can be 3-4 at night going to the province. take care

I too have problems with driving at night. I get blinded by headlight (especially those darn ones that look blue), the road seems to disappear by curves and things if there are no streetlights. Trying to see the lane markings in rain...awful!! One thing that has helped me though with the oncoming headlights is to get yellow sunglasses. For some reason (I don't know the science of it) it helps to keep them from blinding me. But if I can I either try to drive only during the daytime, IF I do have to drive at night I try to limit it to places that have street lights or routes that I have memorized so I know what to expect.
