U.K shoppers will be able to examine the carbon footprint of their clothing for the first time, thanks to the first carbon reduction label. Continental Clothing (an organic clothing company) has partnered up with Carbon Trust to launch the first line of clothing where the garment's carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas production numbers will be printed on the garment. As well as listing what will be released upon disposal. Also along with the line of T-shirts and sweatshirts will be tips on how to reduce energy consumption. While organic and eco-friendly clothing is nothing new, Carbon Apparel will be the very first to be entirely up front about just what sort of an effect the making, distributing and discarding of clothing can really have. Is this too much, or exactly the sort of thing that we - the public - should be made aware of? Is this in-your-face, or informative?
