Cut Costs Not Quality?

Do you think that the Government can cut health care costs with out doing serious harm to health care quality in it's entitlement programs? The programs I refer to are Medicaid, (medical care for those too poor to obtain their own health care or children) or Medicare, (which is health care for senior citizens and some disabled citizens which includes part D prescription benefit). There is a lot of graft in the system as well as a lot of non medical bloat that costs good money. Health care costs are rising much faster than the rate of inflation. The United State's health care costs are rising much faster than the costs of other countries.

Healthier food sources and healthier eating will go a ways towards improving overall health. I believe that one reason I am so healthy is because I eat well seasoned foods with herbs and spices. Food is part of our medicine.

I also eat well. I generally eat 'whole' foods, meaning you know what the food was originally by looking at it what it was before it became food, such as a bean or an egg. Fast food resturaunt's food is not that way. Can't eat too many salads or raw veggies or I will get the 'quick trot'.
Unfortunately, my genetics are a joker in the deck. As I am adopted, I don't know who donated the Joker. I do know that when I was 23 years of age, I came down with seven different viruses. My body never recovered really.

Maybe. Maybe not, for me the 'jury' is still out on Obama.

I am also noting grass roots action on a number of things as people are noting what you see. People are noting that the government is not a catch all, and are doing things for themselves. Community gardens are popping up which are including herbal medicines. Underground economies are popping up as the government's economy tanks. If things continue to circle the drain, the more Americans continue to take matters into their own hands.

We all need to be responsible for reporting fraud when we see it. Until people make honesty a priority, I am afraid the situation will continue. I do not know that the Government can make it better without the help of its citizens.

With Obama at the helm, less graft is going to happen at the top as he is less tolerant of it. I think we will see a trickle down effect.

We may also see more holistic care, which is cheaper in the long run than simple disease care.

That I agree, I think technology can be incorporated to do this.

i think cut costing is not a remedy on he recession side particularly is the issue is health...health should have all the materials need since cost cutting in medicines will cost more problems to be adress by the government especially if this cost cutting will cause another large problem. The cost cutting can materialized in the area of big companies, those in comes of human labor and the materials that does not cause any problem( not denying that there is another problem but it is lesser than those of health issues)....the World health organization should look on this issues!!!!health is wealth!
