Where do you go out to eat?

When I go out to eat I try my hardest to go to small family owned restaurants rather than huge chain restaurants. They tend to care much more about the customer than people at chain restaurants. It helps our economy to stay local, too. I went to get a coffee from this colombian place this morning, their coffees are one dollar, instead of dunkin donuts across the street, which is 2+ dollars. I then noticed that their breakfast sandwiches were about 50 cents cheaper too, and they offer turkey bacon on their sandwiches, which dunkin donuts doesnt! So how do you feel about family operated businesses? Do you go big? Or do you like the local businesses much better?

I'm not really picky on restaurants. I'm picky on foods. Regardless of how cheap a restaurant charges if I don't like the foods in their menu i don't go back there anymore. Same thing with expensive restaurants I don't care how popular their steaks are cause I'm not into steaks. It really depends on what I crave for but I prefer restaurants who make foods out of scratch like Chi-chi's. They make their own spaghetti there and price is reasonable. Subway promotes healthier sandwiches but I'm not a sandwich person so i end up going home and make a meal for myself. Now that's cheap. lol

well, when I go out to eat I do not generally eat at flashy high-end restros or the nearby McD or KFC or whatever the fastfood chain that is there close-by. Instead I have always preferred to local business restaurants since they are able to give much more personalised attention to one person and they in return provide better service. Also, the prices are also more economical. One can also expect the place to be a lot more quiter, compared with other popular joints that one may see.

In my town there's this little out of the way diner that's family owned and has been in business for almost 100 years! We like the people, they are sweet and friendly and make the best old fashioned home cooked food around!

Nowadays, many restaurants and eating outlets offer set menus at promotional prices, so they could be cheaper than the smaller businesses which may not be able to match them. We usually go for places that offer value for money - good food at lower prices!

Well when I do go out to eat I usually go to the chain resturants, like cheddars, chili's, cheesecake factory or olive garden. These are some of the resturants that are near me. I live in a big city so I don't really know of the local hometown family operated resturants in my area. I know there are some I just don't know about them. I guess the one I know about is the chinese resturant that is across the street from my apartment. I eat there. It is very good. In my hometown(which is small) me and my family use to frequent this mexican resturant that was family owned and operated. The food was very good and the service was great.

I used to go to tattu kada or roadside shop to have food. This is cheap and has good food. Dosa is my favorite food. I also like masala dosa very much. Most times I eat food at home because I believe homely food are more tastier. Sometimes I go outside to have food just for a change. I like going to small restaurants rather than big restaurants.

Hey reblmel! When I go out to eat I usually go the a resturant that I know or someone has recommended me about it. I don't really like to eat outside anyway. I like much more to eat at home rather to eat at a resturant or at fast food stores like Mcdonalds, pizza etc... I think that when you eat at home you know exactly what is in your food and you don't have to worry that it is not healthy, not clean or something like that. Furthermore, when you eat at home your meal is much cheaper than eating outside. Maybe it is nice to eat out or to go for a good resturant once in a while, but I think that people should eat more at their homes because it is cheaper and more healthy. Have a great weekend!

I prefer foreign restaurants and most of those are small family owned restaurants. I live in village where there are no restaurants, but in a nearby town there are a couple of Indian restaurants that I like very much. There is also a very good Mexican restaurent. The food is delicious there, but the place is very, very small so it is always very crowded. In my country there is one particular chain restaurant that has become very popular. I don't like eating there, and I don't like the food and the atmosphere, but many people seem disagree with me, because this chain has become very popular.
