People are creative in saving utility cost, including electricity, water, gas, etc. The charged cable TV is something taking into consideration. Have you cancelled it, or do you think worthwhile doing it?

I have just cancelled my charged cable tv,two months back.I have installed DTH ,direct dish connection fro the government. It gives me four regional language channels and 60 more channels which are more than enough.I have the satisfaction that my kids will not be watching rubbish things anymore apart from the monthly savings.Cheers!

I have recently discontinued my cable tv and opted for direct tv through satellite Sky Tv. This is not because of the cost factor but mainly because of picture quality and regularity of transmission. Now i am getting excellent and uninterrupred viewing and the sound and picture quality is superb.Moreove it has worked out to be much cheaper than my previous cable connection. So i am satisfied and happy.

I have reserved energy in my home to cut cost. I run less lights and television and more..... but I still have my cable and will keep it for the sake of my children they love television and so do I and I don't like just the basic channels so my cable is very expensive, but yet entertaining because we go out less because of the price of everything going on............Great Day!

I canceled it about 5 or so years ago. I don't regret it a bit. I have internet and can watch anything I want. The monthly charge is much less and we use the internet for a lot of other things including making money.

I haven't canceled my cable, but I no longer subscribe to the premium channels like HBO and Showtime. I originally subscribed to them for the comedy series they show. However, the shows I watch won't air new episodes until later this year, so I figured I shouldn't be paying extra if I'm not watching the channels.

We still have cable at my house. I don't use it much myself, but the reast of the family does. If I even mention getting rid of it I hear about it.

I dont think cutting the TV cable is a good cost cutting idea. Yes, you can reduce the number of channels which you hardly see, for I feel that relaxataion plays an equally important role in our life and this is a much cheaper form of relaxaatin than going to movies or eating outside. We can watch TV for some time to save on electircity but cutting it off totally is not very appealing to me.

i just canceled my cable a couple of weeks ago. their pricces were way to high & the service was terrible. they were taking channels away & not replacing them w/anythin. they had no competition here so they did as they pleased, kept raising your bill etc. i'm glad to be rid of the, also their attitude was stinky if u had to call them about anything. at their prices i didn't appreciate stinky.

You bet.... What I do now is online viewing t.v. programs on sites like veoh, hula, or atdhe where you can see all your favorites.. I see them on my lap tap then have a connector which I connect to my 50 inch big screen Voila! pretty sweet...all I tell my husband is "get the popcorn dear"

YES. We cancelled it about 6 months ago. I do miss a few things - like Lifetime and The N, but I've gotten over it by now. It was an extra $60 a month - which is outrageously expensive to spend just on TV, wouldn't you say? I think it was a worthwhile decision. $60 X 6 = $360 in savings so far.

I have a satellite tv instead of a cable tv. I did not altogether cancelled the subscription but instead downgraded the package. I used to pay for the most expensive package they offer but since I do not get to watch all the channels and have only a few channels that I really like, I opted for the cheaper package.
