kind do you like? My hubby brought these Grands home with the Cinnabon icing and cinnamon. We have had them before, but not today. I guess we will save them for a treat. Or do you like home made? If so do you have a good recipe?

For a quick treat we use tubes of them as well. For the most part, I make big ol homemade ones, but I have to be in a very good mood to do those, lol. Here's the recipe for my big ones, it's simple but might take about 20 minutes for prep work.. 1/2 cup warm water 2 pkg. dry yeast 2 tablespoon sugar 3 1/2 oz. pkg vanilla pudding mix 1/2 cup margarine, butter, melted 2 eggs 1 teaspoon salt 6 cups flour For the filling it's: 1 cup butter, softened, 2 cup light brown sugar 4 teaspoons cinnamon Icing, one tube of cream cheese icing. Mix your water, yeast and sugar together until both yeast and sugar is dissolved. Set that to the side, in another bowl make you pudding as directed on the back of the box, add butter, eggs and salt, blend well... then blend in your sugar, yeast water, and blend very well, once that's all blended together, Gradually add flour, transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead dough until smooth. Place in a greased bowl,; cover and let rise until doubled. Punch down dough and let rise again. On a floured surface, roll out.. take the one cup of butter, and spread over dough. In a small bowl add two cups of brown sugar and cinnamon, mix and then sprinkle over butter. Setting some of the brown sugar and cinnamon to the side... Roll up tightly, cut about every 2 inches with sharp knife. Place rolls on slighly greases pan, about 2 inches apart, slighly push roll down, cover and let rise again. Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes or until they start to turn golden brown. For icing, i just use a tube of cream cheese flavored icing, but add in the brown sugar and cinnamon that i sat aside from earlier... They are big rolls, and are similar to the cinnabon ones. Makes about 20.

They are really good, but they are some what time consuming, this is why I must be in a good mood to make them. lol.. I also have a cresent roll cinnamon roll recipe that is very fast and quick. I make those in the mornings for the kids when I am in a total time crunch and feel like sending my son to school on a sugar high, lol.

Hi, ersmommy1. I like mines without the icing on it. I love for it to have the gooey brown glaze that oozes from it. It is so delicious to eat it this way!

Yum! I'd sell a kidney for a really good cinnamon bun right now. We have a Krispy Kreme here locally that sells iced creme filled donuts and they taste almost as good as a cinnamon roll. But, nothing replaces that gooey goodness of a cinnamon bun.

Mmmm! those sound so good to have right now..It is a bit chilly right now and a pipping hot cinnamon roll would totally hit the spot right now..Sadly I have none. I haven't bought any in a few months. I have made them homemade especially when I was baby sitting my sister in laws kids everyday and it was always a nice thing to have for them...they loved them. I have tried Pillsbury, and other store brands. But nothing beats the taste of a homemade one...Now I have a craving for them and will have to buy some yeast so I can make me some and maybe this weekend when my little sister spends the weekend it will be something we can do together.. she loves learning things like cooking. I get mine out of a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. It is a great recipe. www.bhg.com

I like to eat them ever so often. I am not sure which ones I like the best though. I have not had them in a while.

I prefer the homemade ones to the store bought ones, but they take so much time to make I don't really make them. Plus my son does not really care for them too much. I like the Grands ones ok.

I personally don't really care for those tube cinnamon rolls, nor do I care much for bakery cinnamon rolls. they are just too cakey and doughy for me. I like to make my own. I make mine with a regular sweet yeast bread recipe from my old pilsbury cook book. It is as follows- 6 to 7 cups of all purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoons salt 2 packages of active dry yeast 1 cup water 1 cup milk 1/2 cup butter 1 egg combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Blend well. heat the milk, water and butter until very warm. (120 to 130 degrees). add warm liquid and egg to the flour mixture and blend well. I set this aside and let it raise for about an hour. This give the bread dough a head start. Add 3 additional cups of flour. mix or stir until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. on a floured surface kneed in 1 to 2 cups more flour until the dough is smooth and elastic about 10 minutes. place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. let it raise in a warm place until double. Punch the dough down to remove the air bubbles. Grease a 13 by 9 inch baking pan. Then take 1/2 of the dough and on a floured surface roll the dough out to about 20 by 12in.Spread the rolled out dough with butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. starting with the 20 inch side roll the dough up like a jelly roll and pinch the edges firmly. cut into 20 1 inch slices. put in the baking pan with the cut side down now cover and let raise again until double. Then bake at 375 degrees for about 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. remove from pan immediately. Make frosting of 1/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tbs soft butter, 1 tbs milk 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. mix well and drizzle over the rolls. These are better than any that you can buy. if you don't want to make your own dough I have used boughten frozen bread dough and let it thaw in the fridge over night.

We love Grands too! But then I have to control my blood sugar so we stop getting those. In order for me to take control of the amount of sugar in our cinnamon rolls, I end up grabbing some basic cinnamon rolls recipe in the internet and modify it to make it as diabetic-friendly as possible. Well it is not as good as Grands but it turn out okay. Instead of the Cinnabon Icing, I make use of SUgar free maple syrup, mixed with a little melted Smart Balance Butter and a little vanilla extract.
