I guess when I say "car", I also include a bus or a motorcycle in the discussion. In my entire life I've been in six car wrecks. Three when I was driving, although none were my fault. The last one I had was ten years ago. How many accidents have you been in, either as a driver or passenger?

Luckily, I haven't been in any accidents at all. *knocks on wood*
Some dumb kid who'd borrowed his dad's big 4x4 F150 ran into my car yesterday, though... He's 100% at fault, because my car was parked and unoccupied. He hit it and left a big line of paint on my rear passenger door, then left the scene to watch a movie with his girlfriend!

He really was. I saw the whole thing, but didn't realize he'd hit my car until I was coming back to it and saw the damage. He didn't deny that he'd hit it, but he tried telling the officers that he had no idea he'd done it. I don't believe it. I saw the "Oh my god!" expressions on his face and his girlfriend's face right before he pulled out to straighten the truck out. They both knew he hit it. :(

well I never had car and though I have been driven in cars at various times I have never been in any accidents thank god for that. Accidents must be awfully scary. I don't even know that many people personally that have ever been in an accident.

There really isn't a lot of public transportation where I live. I mean to get to a bus stop I'd have to walk four miles to get to it. Downtown (I live close to my state's capital city, about 2 miles from the city, 25 form downtown) there are a lot of ways to get around using public transportation. So the people in my state drive a lot themselves. I mean, there are businesses and things to do everywhere, it's just more common to drive to them.

About 2. And I saw about 2 as I don't know if a ding from some goof who slammed on their braked to get a parking space counts as an accident, but it cost me over $600 for my bumper.
The first one I was really in I was 18 and some sort of support rod snaped on the car as I was on the horseshoe shaped on-ramp to the freeway and my car spun into the freeway blowing 2 tires as well. I walked away with no injury and no tickets thank goodness just a few hundred dollars in repairs.

Funnily enough I was thinking about this after hearing yet another tragic story on the news of a fatal car crash and I can thankfully say that as of yet I have never been in one. I must admit though because I have not, and because I hear of so many on the news it does make me wary when I am out with hubby in the car I find I am watching for everything as we are driving and if I feel he is driving to fast I find myself praying!

I have been driving for 50 years and never been in one accident. Now I shall have to pray that I have not jinxed myself by saying that!!!!

I have been in none as a driver. I have been in one of as a passenger. My mother was driving. Several cars were involved, and it was not my mother's fault. The people who drive the ambulance kept trying to get me to go into the ambulance. I had no need to. She kept saying...you will be sorry in the morning. They paid for things like that.

I haven't been involved in any that are serious, but a few close calls (my dad is a horrible driver- way to agressive and aloof).
When I was 12, my dad almost drove head first into an oncoming semi trailer because he didn't check before trying to pass the car in front of us. We ended up going off the road and into a ditch, but no one was hurt (from the accident, though Dad's ears hurt from my mum's yelling at him!).
A few rear enders, where tailgaters have ended up riding our tow bar, but again, no one hurt and no damage..to us!!!! Note to drivers: If the car in front has a towball, make sure your insurance is upto date before tailgating because it is your radiator that will be ruptured!

Knock on wood I have never been in a car accident. My husband had a deer jump into the side of his pickup a few months ago no one was hurt. My parents were rear ended by another car once. No one was hurt in that one eitehr lukily. My husbands really close friend was killed in a car wreck though he rolled a car on gravel and was thrown from the vehicle. Please everyone slow down on gravel. Drive safe.

As a drive I have been in one mega accident where my car was a write off and as a passenger I have been in three minor accidents. The mega accident was my fault as I was driving whilst crying. I should not have nbeen driving whilst so distressed. i wa fined and no one was hurt( apart from me) so I gave thanks for this. Blessings

I've been in a total of 4. 3 as a passenger when I was growing up and 1 when I was the driver. I wouldn't say I was completely at fault, because after the other driver exchanged information with me she drove off like a bat out of hell. But at least it was a minor accident. So minor, in fact, there was no real damage to either vehicle, other than a little paint missing from the other car's bumper which got onto my car. My husband was able to buff it out and it was as good as new (or as good as it could be for an 8 year old car). The was about 7 years ago. I haven't been in an auto accident since (knock on wood).

I got in more accidents when I first started driving. In the first two years, I was in 4 accidents. Three of them were my fault, and once I got hit while waiting at a red light. That one almost totaled my car, and I got whiplash. Since then, I've had a couple of small accidents while driving, and a few while someone else was driving. The last time I even got a little dent on my car was about 7 years ago.

I was in two car accidents. The first one, I was waiting at a red light, standing still. This man was making a left hand turn and hit my car. He gave me his insurance information, and it turned out he really was not insured, he had fake paperwork, therefore my car did not get fixed, because I only had liability insurance.
The second one was the biggie, the accident occured at an intersection with a blinking amber light. I was making a left hand turn, and this guy came out of nowhere and broadsided me. My car was totaled, and I was out of work for five months.
