Do you prefer a contract phone or prepaid?? What are the pros and cons? I've always had a prepaid and I've been wondering if there are any advantages to getting a contract phone or if I'm ok with a prepaid. Any thoughts? thanks!

i am using a prepaid plan.. i prepare a prepaid plan, because it limits my usage of my phone so that i would not pay alot.. and i do not like to have a contract because they force their services upon you.. if you are using a prepaid plan, you could switch when you want to to another service...

In most cases, contract is cheaper per minute... I'm paying $116/month right now on my cell phone bill... But I do use over 2,500 minutes a month as well... A lot of it has to do with business related phone calls... I'm averaging $0.04 per minute... If I were to use same amount of minutes on a pre-paid cell phone, it would be alot more than $116/month... But then if you barely use your phone, then I can see using pre-paid phones... I see that few pre-paid comepanies are now offering unlimited plans as well...

I also only have prepaid. I love prepaid with a prepaid plan. I believe that's what's right for me. I am not sure how much you spent on your prepaid cell, so I can't really say what's best for you. One of the cons of having a contract, it is that you will mostly have to pay for that cell for 2 years and be stuck with the same plan, that's what I hear.

I've been using prepaid phone for years and so far, i've never encountered any problems with it.. since i'm not a heavy caller and texter, prepaid is soo perfect for me.. it's way cheaper than postpiad phones or contract phones.. but if you're a businessman, boss, celebrity or whatever, postpaid is ideal for you because it perfectly suits all your needs..

I have had both prepaid and contract phone service. Since my credit is not all that good I have prepaid phone with verizon. Prepaid minutes can be very expensive. I rather have a contract phone the plans and the phones are alot better

HI Friend, That's totally depends on the person and his usage.. If your usage is more then you should go for contract because you can avail very low cost call charges with that but if you have very less usage then prepaod is good for you.. Prepaid also controls your usage and don't let you go beyond your boundries on the other hand sometime person goes beyond his boundries and make his bill more than the money in his/her pocket..
