I thinks the odds are with India for winning the third test. If you go by logic it will be very clear that India holds the edge over Kiwis in the third test. If its a flat pitch like in Napier then the match will be a tame draw. But if the pitch is capable of providing a result then surely it will be in India's favor. Why do I say so? Well let me explain. Lets first take batting. As far as Kiwis are concerned on flat pitch their strokemakers can match Indian batting. BUt as soon as the ball starts to swerve around their inexperience starts to tell. They dont have the steel to match the mettle of Dravid, Sachin and laxman. Even if our top ordser fails we have a impreggnable middle order that can repair all early damage. I dont think New zealand batsmen can handle zaheer and Ishant on a pitch that assists pace bowling. If you compare the Bowling then again New Zealand fall short of India. Zaheer has tonnes of experience and has become more controlled in the last couple of years. Ishant has a good brain on his shoulders. Munaf is good with his discipline of line and length on pitches that assist fast bowling. And in comparison New Zealand only have Martin. O'brien and The other fast bowlers are pedestrians compared to Indian Bowlers. The only department where New Zealand holds the edge is Fielding. They field much better than us but our talent surely makes up for the lack in fielding strength. As long as India doesnt goof up in fielding like in Napier I dont think New Zealand can do much. And on a pitch that will help bowling even a little bad fielding wont have too much of an effect as chances will be coming every now and then rather than like in a flat pitch where chances are very far and few. Captainship is another department to be considered and Dhoni's return will mean India is back to their full strength. I would like to see Dinesh being given a chance and Yuvraj given a rest for the third test. I say so because Yuvraj has time and again failed against the swinging ball. And if the pitch for the third test is going to assist seamers then Yuvraj would be a liability. Karthick has opened for India overseas and done it with good results. He can handle the swinging ball. I think he has a better chance of survival than Yuvraj on seaming conditions.

Hope Dhoni will be back and then the chances of India winning the test is more....the absent of Dhoni was deeply felt in this test match...it is not that he is a very good captain but it is his batting down the order which makes lots of difference. In this match, I think if Dhoni would be there then India would not have gone for the follow on even though they lacked more than hundred runs to save the match. Then another area of concern for India is bowling department....Indian bowlers are not bowling on the right spot, even though in the first match Bhajji played great in the second innings....hope he will show consistency....

Calm down!. Its too much we are asking now. Just today few great players managed to do a draw from that inevitable defeat. Lets rest for a day and think whether we will win the third one. Hope we can.

yeah , now that india has drawn the second test match holding their 1-0 lead in the test series after all when thelucky talisman of india m.s. dhoni was not in the team . if he is to return in the final test , india's morale will be high under his captaincy & they will be keen to give new zealander's a befitting reply & show how to win a test when u are dominating first 3 days of a test match!!!!

India is a better team and will surely win the next test. From the first two tests it is clear that in seaming conditions the kiwis are as susceptible to the swinging ball as the Indians...Infact india should b happy with the windy conditions in the third test. New zealand lacks the bowlers to take 20 Indian wickets. From the second test it was clear that New Zealand can only take wickets when either of the two things happen: 1. The indian batsmen give them a gift of their wicket (like in the first innings). 2. The umpires give the poorest of decisions(like in the second innings).lol. If neither of the two happens in the third test then India should win it quite comfortably.
