Yes. I do agree with you that we use Mylot to vent our feelings on issues we feel so strongly about but isn't that supposed to be the purpose of a Mylot? Exchange of ideas and opinions but of course we should always maintain decorum and respect for the rights of others.

There are times when something comes out in the news that I want to talk about, and it's nice to talk about them on here, Political issues too. It's easier to talk about news and politics, when people don't always know who I am. Also, it's neat to get opinions from all over the world.

Many times i have been in this situation like this, and mostly the delicate issues i either mail to my friends here in detail, and post a topic here with an outline of the problem that i am going through, and on 90 out of 100 times i get cleared by my friends here.
Recently i posted here a topic about the problem with my computer, and many a suggestions i got from here and mails from friends.
I take this as an opportunity to thank my friends who always respond to my problems when i am faced with.
Again a great work by you Bala.

Hey balasri! I think that we all are very happy to say that
at one time or another we have all felt comfortable to have
use mylot to vent on one thing or another! That is the beauty
of this wonderful place! Our friends are understanding and
even the people that we don't know are empathetic to our
vents! That is why mylot is such a very special place! You
can say whatever you need to without feeling that you will
be persecuted or judged and you can usually end up feeling so
much better by the warm and fuzzy answers that you get from
fellow mylotters!

I am a writer and writing is almost always good therapy for me. As far as the discussions in this forum are concerned I love it when I receive feedback from another MyLotter in regards to some advice I may have given or words of mine that have made a difference to someone.
I don't come to MyLot just to share my concerns although it is helpful to hear others' opinions on certain issues of mine, I really enjoy being able to help if I can; that's something that stays with me long after I've logged off!

No Bala! Not really;I have not posted discussions like that though I have posted some thing related to some past emotional disturbance or so;But, it would be more in the intention of hearing another person's perspective than just giving vent to some bottled feelings. But, while reponding to one or two discussions long back,I have taken it as an opportunity to write something that was of great relief-for example I once wrote a tribute to my deceased father in Perspectives' discussion and I felt very much better for it.

Yes, it feels good to know that some people feel
the same way as you in certain issues. No matter
how far we are from eachother, we are all connected.

Hi bala!
I come for fun and don't come to talk about any offline problems - I come to get away from them
However sometimes I read something and I get heated under the collar and then I vent on here but it is usually about something I have seen on here. Usually users compaining about myLot itself. That gets my blood hot! So I start to say what I think... then I make lots of typos...
and stop.
I don't like complaining when it's unnecesary so I avoid it. But after I have let myself go when talking about my feelings regarding cheaters then yes, I do feel better for having let of steam

It was over a year ago and it wasn't a vent, but a personal issue. I named it something like Therapy 101. I did feel relieved that I had thrown it to the myLot world :). What about you?

Well I have raised so many issues that were haunting me.About a lesson I learned from a girl in an encounter with a beggar, about treating the elders properly, and about the youngsters of today, and over so many values. It always makes me calm and content getting many great responses from like minded friends like you.

I've posted a few times about things that were upsetting me - making me a bit mad, just on my mind and needing to be vented...or things that were making me sad.
Some of them were good after i posted them, others upset me again or other emotions were felt when i got responses. Made me mad...made me cry...touched my heart that people could be so caring...

I have had a few discussions that I felt better after I posted them
that is until I got responses and I just got irritated all over again
writing things down is good but when people get to bring things back up time and time again the ill feelings dont ever really go away totally

I can remember doing that on a few occassions Bala. And i think we do that because this is a forum where people listen to you, debate, suggest and try and help you. Doing this in a congregation of people may bring out some very strong reactions.
Some of the issues were concerning elderly people, our envoirnment and those related to work. The feedback and interactions certainly made me feel better.

Hi, balasri! I only feel relaxed and I feel that I can better control my feelings and I can handle myself better in dealing with them. I feel that others can relate to me because they have been through the same or similar experience! I get many members that will give me true and mature advice. I love them for that!
