Scott

Okay all of the judges seem to love the blind guy, Scott, and I'm just not seeing it. He sits behind a piano and sings the same kind of song every week, doesn't put his own spin on things and just comes across as bland. If any other contestant had the same monotony of performances, the judges would be ripping them apart and they'd be gone. I'm starting to think this is more about popularity and sympathy and not talent, I don't think that's what the show should be about!!

I do have to agree with you. There have been some great singers in the past that the judges have stated that they would be good for singing in a hotel lounge or something and this is exactly where I can see Scott going. He is not an American Idol. Yes, he is vision imapaired and I am sorry for that but this is Amaerican Idol and judging should be done by talent and not on their life off of that stage. I was shocked to see him sent back to his seat last week and am lookin forward to seeing this weeks shows. I really can not see him making it again. An AI contestant needs to be able to sing AND perform and this is not what he is giving America.

I know, I'm shocked Simon hasn't said more than he has but he's probably worried about the fallout of making fun of the disabled. That kind of takes away from the show because people tune in to see Simon be mean and he's so timid when it comes to Scott.

I totally agree with you. I did like Scott in Hollywood. He is a good singer, but doesn't compare to any of the other contestents in talent. He would be a good lounge singer. I agree that maybe he is getting sympathy votes or something. I wonder if the judges will save him when he gets voted out. If they do, something is definitely wrong with them!

I will be so disappointed and annoyed if the judges use their only save on him. That would just be ridiculous.

I'm actually have the same thought as you. He is a nice guy, has a good voice but the competition is pretty tough. Still when I've seen tonight the episode where he was voted out it made me feel a bit sad. I even cried a bit which is really weird because I'm not a fan of him. He still take the decision as a man and I think his personality is what making the fans to vote for him. Show goes on and I hope Adam wins =)

Yes it is really hard to see someone to be voted off but I'm sure they understand that. Only one winner, it doesn't mean they are not good. They made it that far and beat out thousands of hopeful, it is already an achievement.

It's hard to see anyone leave because you know how close everyone has got to each other and how heartbreaking the voting off must be.

I agree with you...I do not see what is so great about him...he does the same tone in all his songs. I haven't seen him upgrade at all

Exactly. It's like he's just kinda .. blah. Everyone else steps it up a notch and takes risks. He's just existing.

Yeah and I don't think that right. It shouldn't be based on pity. He's had some hard breaks but the show isn't about that. It's about popularity. How many people will actually be buying tickets to go see the American Idol concert tour to see Scott, honestly?

I agree too! He doesn't need to be on this show and I am sad to say it but I don't want to go see AI live because I would rather not see him live, although there are a couple others I dont really care for either. He is getting too many sympathy votes that the people with real talent should get. When Matt was in the bottom three I was shocked...although his performance tonight wasn't all that great. I am confident that Scott will not make it too much farther as there is so much talent this year that eventually his small, in comparison, talent wont be enough. He is known now and I think he can make it, but not on American Idol.

I think that if he does do anything, he'll make a small solo record but it won't go too far. He really just doesn't have the talent needed. He's going off his disability and people aren't going to spend money on his music.

I would like to see Anoop go first...he has even less talent

Well this has been the year of the sob stories and he just came out with the best one. Throughout the auditions I couldn't stand the way they tried to showcase everyone who'd had a rough life. This is a talent show, not a "Woe is me" show. Either way, I agree. His performances have been mediocre at best. I thought he butchered Martina McBride's Wild Angels on country night. This actually reminds me of an SNL skit a few years ago when Snoop Dog was hosting. They had a rap contest and Snoop played a nerdy guy in a wheelchair. His whole rap was "I'm in a wheelchair yo, a wheelchair. I gotta use a special bathroom. A wheelchair..." And he kept winning because everyone felt bad for him until someone else showed up in a wheelchair.

THANK YOU. I hated that performance of Martina McBrides.. I couldn't understand half of what he said and I was completely shocked when the judges said he did great. I was waiting for them to say he was in trouble. Who is voting for this guy??

The sympathetic contestants seem to get a break the first few weeks of the show, and then the voters start to get more serious. So he will not be there much longer. I don't think he is bad, but he is not as good as a few other people on the show. He has a mininum of 2 weeks left. That is what I am predicting anyways.

angel3yes you are singing to the chorus, i do not get it at all. There is nothing special about him that i can tell. In fact he ruins the dance numbers for the other kids, as they have to base the whole number around him. I was happy to see him in the bottom three so that means it will only be a matter of time, just not fast enough. http://tea512.sunpride2000.com/

It's not just that they have to base the dance numbers around him but that I think some of them are going home earlier than they should when he should have gone home. There's been a couple weeks where he should have definately been in the bottom three but performers way better than him were.

My mom and I were talking about the same thing last week. He is definately not on the same level as the other contestants. Yeah, he is a good singer, but no where near as good as everyone else. I hope he goes this week. I'm sick of the same type of songs every week. If he does stay this week he needs to change things up a bit. He has no excitement, or spice in his performances. He is getting really boring to watch for me.
