Ace Of Cakes and Cake Decorating...

I love watching cake decorating shows and seeing finished pieces. My favorite was a competition in which 3 teenage girls did a replica of Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter movie…it was beautiful!
My favorite cake show is Ace of Cakes. Just the things he comes up with and how he does them. I like watching him create.

I don’t do cake decorating b/c my hands aren’t steady enough…all the women in my family on my Mom’s side have a tremor in their hands.
Does anyone else like cake decorating? What’s your favorite show? Do you do it yourself? How did you learn to do it? What’s the hardest one you’ve done? Any pics of them to share?

That show is so cool, I record it on my DVR every chance I get. I think it is so cool that they put so much time and effort into those cakes for people. Have you ever been on their website? I checked it out and I thought the site was cool too. It is really costly to get a cake from them too. FRom what I could see it is about 1,000 and that is to start. I would buy one from them if I had the money. Someday I might buy a cake from them too. Anyway nice discussion and happy mylotting to you.

That's awfully steep for a cake but I think it's in part b/c of the status of the ppl making it...not to mention the talent. I don't think I'd ever buy one but I'd love to go see their shop and see them in action.

To be honest I don' do much cake baking anymore, but when I did I would do fairly simple French Gateaux which are actually very small cakes rather than large/tall tiered. But one Christmas I went all out and did one of those Yule Log Cakes. for the life of me I have no idea how I had the patience to do that as I sure wouldn't now. If that Ace of Cakes show is on cable then I wouldn't be able to watch as I no longer have cable :-(

Wow, those are beautiful! I've never been able to decorate a cake very well, I depended on the candy decorations that you can buy. The kids liked to eat them, anyway! My son, though, got quite good at it. He doesn't do it any more but I still have his decorating tips and stuff.

I love seeing decorated cakes - and remember taking one of my daughters to her friend's party a long time ago where the mother had made the most beautiful fairy castle cake. It was pink and purple and white, about two feet tall, and had towers and flags and everything - it had taken the mother many nights to put together. She told me she thought the cake inside would be pretty stale - but it was too pretty to cut up, so I hope she took lots of photographs!

I love the show Ace of Cakes!
I cant decorate a cake like that so I am envious of their talent
my mom can decorate cakes pretty good but not like they can
she tried to teach me but I have no artistic talent

I love to watch Ace of Cakes. All of them are so creative. I don't decorate cakes or make any fancy ones like they do on that show. My daughter's sister in law used to make and decorate cakes before she got married and started her family. She made my daughter's wedding cake and my grandson has had the privilage of some of her special cakes.

I wish I could decorate cakes.I have tried but I am not good at it.I like to watch the Ace Of Cakes show too.I have always wished I could make beautiful decorated cakes. I like to watch the bake offs on the cooking channel.The people who are contestants are really talented. The ideas they come up with for making and decorating the cakes are fantastic.

I love to eat cake like anyone easle but I do not watch these shows. "Let them eat cake" was the famous qote that Marie Antonette once said. but we know what happen to her. but be that as it may, the kind of cake I love to eat is bithday cake or cholete cake.

My niece just started baking, and she's just one of those kids who are constantly on her phone or computer. So her father(my brother) and I decided for her college fund and for her entertainment we would put together a cake decorating site for her. I purchased one of these products for her to get started on her Cake Decorating Business she wants to start, She's 15, and she's been in love with decorating since. She wants to own her own custom Cake Design company when she gets older. So when a child has a dream you have to support it, especially when the dream is reachable. So I'm not asking for anybody to purchase a thing, but if you have the time to comment please do so. It would mean the world to her.
