stupid alert

Warning sought for burger the size of your head -
I do not like it when Vegan-ism transforms from a dietary choice to a political extreme movement that tries to force other people to change their lives. That lies a dangerous road.

A vegan advocacy group wants to hand out a warning label for a hand burger that is the size of a human head. The West Michigan Whitecaps say they have no plans to put a warning label on an enormous new hamburger they're selling this season; that is the size of a human head. * Here is the stupid part one: Vegan advocates would rather no one eat meat, this sucker's got it right between two slices of bun. There's cheese in there for those so inclined as well, a non-vegetable product as well. The bread can put vegans in a twist too, as it may include an egg. The result, clear and present politics. * Here is the stupid part two: This ginormous sandwich isn't the most healthy thing you can eat, a fact to which the vegans will shout at the roof tops. Add fries and catsup, well, you get the complaint. Every one, well almost everyone, knows that hand burgers of any size are not healthy and should not be the mainstay of the diet. Normal people would not eat this ....novelty as a dietary mainstay. * Vegans are often cool people. I say often as there are stinker Vegans out there too, as they are like all populations...people. I accept that meat is not on everyone's menu, and can make you go "Ewww". * I do not like it when Vegan-ism transforms from a dietary choice to a political extreme movement that tries to force other people to change their lives. That lies a dangerous road.

I agree, being a vegan is a lifestyle choice. So long as we live in this world we have to realize that not everyone is on the same page as you are. I have met militant vegans that after hearing my allergies and diet, conceed that I would have a lot of trouble being a vegetarian, much less a vegan. I've met others that don't care, that I should chose to be ill before eating meat - I'm sorry, I won't do that. And because we are going to kill the animals anyway, I want as much of their body to be used as possible and not wasted, so I like to see leather goods and pigs ears and the like.

Personally, I would like to see more humane controls in the plants/factories/slaughter houses where the animals are turned into food or goods used by humans. The benefits would be: * 1 Cuts on the suffering inflicted on the animals 2 The disease outbreaks in the human population 3 And the environment would benefit * We can also explore Quorn and other meat substitutes as the above would raise the price of meat in the short term. There are also other varieties of meat that for the moment shunned by Americans but relished by others in the world. Bugs are low in fat to nonfat yet very high in protein. Prepared in certain ways Americans would not know that meat is not chicken or beef.

The vegans I know personally I can easily respect. I am with you on the extremists though. I like a little of everything in my diet, and most people respect me for that as well.
