Obama breaks protocol...

Obama breaks protocol when he bows to Saudi king. This was more than when he met The Queen of England, with whom he only shook hands. Then Michelle actually touched the Queen not knowing about the NO TOUCH rule for royalty. This was done after the Queen lightly touched Michelle on her shoulder. Some say the Queen did so to remind her to curtsy which Michelle never did. Not knowing the NO TOUCH rule Michelle continued to place her hands on the Queen. Obama presented the Queen a gift of an Ipod. It was pre-loaded with Broadway Show tunes and video footage of the queen's visit to the U.S. in 2007. What kind of gift would you give the Queen? Did the Saudi King deserve more respect than the Queen of our motherland? Shouldn't the "First Family" have taken the time to learn about how to meet and great the Queen?

The Obama's are both extremely arrogant. They will do whatever they want to and be damed to the other person. Of course Obama bowed to the Saudi King. The king is his mentor and was a great source of money during his campaign. The Queen didn't give him anything so why pay her any special tribute. An Ipod was not an appropriate gift. But, so far Obama has kept his record of always giving inappropriate gifts to everyone. I wonder what he gave to the Saudi king? Shalom~Adoniah

Yes, I can see that they are beginning to think everyone is below them. She (Michelle) has developed an attitude or should I say is just now showing here attitude of how she thinks of herself.

0bama is a joke and they are already comparing Michelle to Jackie Kennedy. Not even in the same league let alone the same era. She is no Jackie Kennedy. 0bama is no Washington or Lincolon. Not even close.

This is cr@p! The Queen put her arm around Michele first, look at the video before you go on vicious attacks.

The Queen touched Michelle on the back when pictures were taken. I have seen before where the Queen pushes people into position/attention by grabbing their hand in a stand here kind of manner, but gently. It looked like Michelle wasn't paying attention that a picture of the two was asked to be taken by the press photographers. When Michelle wrapped her arm around the Queens shoulders the Queen quickly took her hand down and ever so politely stepped out of the embrace. Of course the Queen would not show whether or not she was upset this happened, that's just not how she is and isn't what a royal figure does, lol. Funny though, other heads of states have been ripped by the press when they got too close to the Queen, because of the no touch rule. Yet the Obamas, well it ranches from breach of protocol but it's okay to Michelle charmes the Queen into an embrace... that's here in the US, elsewhere I have seen negative reports.... They do have a lot to learn in terms of etiquette. And the bow to the Saudi King was completely out of place. One of those Obama 'I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing' moments. Whether this shows his true allegiance... who knows!

That is obviously just your opinion and observation which I am sure is full with bias because of your dislike of President Obama - If you can show me a article in the Saudi press that says they think President Obama is weak - I may believe that - untill then you are just giving me your perception - and we all have one of those.

Americans DO NOT BOW to foreign monarchs, and the President of the Unoted States of AMerica absolutely should not bow to the Saudi King! This shows that he is subservient to the king of one of the most oppressive islamic nations on earth. Our media may be ignoring it, but I can guarantee you the islamic world has taken note of how our weak president admits that he thinks he is beneath king abdulla.

Okay, it seems Obama has not been taught about proper management of foreign relations, which could in fact get us all killed. True, he's acting like a nervous teenage boy meeting his girlfriends parents for the first time and massively screwed up on impressing them. Tell Michelle to keep her hands off the queen. Tell the president that IPods are more of a family gift. As for the Saudi king, I thought we were eyeing his oil. Maybe I'm wrong but we should give some respect this time and try to avoid needless bloodshed.

One has to wonder....is there no one advising them on protocol for dignitaries from other countries?? Agree with it or not, you are expected to follow some protocol. I get the impression that the new administration thinks things like this don't apply to them. Quite frankly, I think it makes them look tacky and ignorant.

Wow.. a comparison between the two royalties, things like these can spark a grudge match already since one might be a bit to tad sensitive on issues like this. People are commenting all over that the president and first lady should do this and do that, do this and do that. They should fix their attitude and show allegiance where allegiance is duly accorded, have you guys found yourself looking at the mirror lately? just my two cents.

According to the many reports I've read and the video footage of the touch, which was initiated by the queen, Michelle did nothing wrong. The touching occured later, at a reception and had nothing to do with a curtsy, which the First Lady of the United States is not expected to do. She and the President are the heads of state of a foreign country and are not royal subjects. Also, along with the Ipod, the Obama's gave the Queen a rare songbook signed by Richard Rogers. Rogers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma" is a long time favorite of the Queen's. The Ipod was loaded with video footage and photographs of her 2007 United States visit to Richmond, Jamestown and Williamsburg in Virginia, something she may not have readily available to view. As for your question, I have no idea what I would give to a queen. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090402/ap_on_re_eu/g20_michelle_obama_7 By JENNIFER QUINN, Associated Press Writer Michelle Obama charms queen away from protocol LONDON – Michelle Obama's meeting with Queen Elizabeth II began with a handshake and ended in a hug. The first lady arrived Wednesday with President Barack Obama. After separate meetings on the eve of the G-20 summit, the couple attended an evening reception for world leaders hosted by the queen. Mrs. Obama clearly made an impression with the 82-year-old monarch — so much that the smiling queen strayed slightly from protocol and briefly wrapped her arm around the first lady in a rare public show of affection. It was the first time Mrs. Obama — who is nearly a foot taller — had met the queen. The first lady also wrapped her arm around the monarch's shoulder and back. A Buckingham Palace spokesman who asked not to be identified because of palace policy said he could not remember the last time the queen had displayed such public affection with a first lady or dignitary. "It was a mutual and spontaneous display of affection," he said. "We don't issue instructions on not touching the queen."

There was a bloody war fought her over 200 years ago that established among other things, that Americans DO NOT BOW to foreign monarchs. 0bama has just shown the entire world where his allegiance truly lies when he bowed to the saudi king, which signals that he is subservient to the king of one of the most oppressive islamic nations on this earth. NOBODY ELSE in the room bowed to the Saudi King and 0bama did not bow to any other foreign leaders. His bow was not returned which signals the king's dominance over 0bama. Our media is willfully ignoring and suppressing this story, but it has HUGE implications for all of us here. The President of our nation has announced by his actions that the King of Saudi Arabia is his superior and that 0bama is the king's subordinate.

i dont think there was anything wrong with michelle touching the queen i thought it was nice to see the queen acting like a normal human like she is, i think people forget that she is just a woman and she dose normal things just like we do. i seen on the tv that a one point the queen but her arm around michelles back and the queen was joking with her about her height as she is alot taller than the queen.
