Plain or Fancy

I was at a website today that looked like it was from the mid-1990s. Very plain web site that had some great content on it without having to navigate through many pages and tons of graphics... mostly all text. Do you prefer a fancy web site that is pleasing to the eye or a website that gets right to the point at the expense of looking 'pretty'? Thanks Zelo

I like neat and orderly - to me too many graphics are chaotic and cause me a bit of distress. I much prefer a simple and plain layout with a few unobtrusive graphics.

OH GOD. Those web sites from the late 1990s when the animated GIFs were all the rage and every site had to have 1000 moving things on them. UGGHH, thank the Good Lord we grew up as web designers! Thanks Zelo

I like a but of both. I want something pleasing to the eye but mot overwhelmed with it. I like it to be easy enough to find what I need to do what I need to get done but still have a little so called eye candy so it isn't all technical.

... completely agree. There are sites that I find out there that try to be more than what they should be and there are sites that make me long for more than what the site has. The right balance between the two is the key to a fabulous web site. Thanks Zelo

I am one who would appreciate ease of navigation. Plain, but readable. I am a get to the point, tell me the punch line type girl.

I appreciate that. There are some sites out there that I just go 'wow' and then it's so hard to get anywhere I just leave. No good. I'm with you! Thanks Zelo

I like plain and simple, light colors and useful information. I like easy navigation and secure site. KISS principle....

I like the simple looking sites better. Eye candy wares off after a few moments but a good navigatible web site is the best.

I'm a "Joe Friday" sort of gal, "Just the fact, ma'am" plain is fine for me - UNLESS I am looking for pictures

i like friends community site.more fun and sometimes unexpected time we can see the old friends there.
