As we all know posting referral links on a discussion is againist the terms of mylot ! I am getting abit peeved as theres more and more people posting referral links in discussions including some of the older members on mylot, I personally dont post referral links but dont see why people can openly flaunt the rules without punishment when I stick to the terms and conditions. Maybe I should start doing referral links lol. So the question is 2 fold, Do you click on a referral link in a discussion if ones posted be honest ? and What do you think of referral links being left in discussions are you like me and gettign abit sick of it ?

I suppose everyone would have their own reasons to join this forum. Some to participate in the discussion and others to sell their products. But between the two there can be just a fine line . I suppose end of the day if u post on the forum you must have something to contribute to the discussion than just leaving your referral link here. If the referral link is relevant and useful to the discussion , why not ? But then again, its prone to be abuse . I suppose that's why the rule is there to prevent the abuse.

Instead of posting there link in a discussion, they should say go to my profile and take a look. or Pm me and I will give you the referral link. that is really what everyone should do.

If you check Mylot Discussions Do's & Don'ts. referral links is allowed if it is related to a discussion and used as a reference. You can see the rest for yourself on my reply #17 here.

AND Here's ................Benny Again. I am glad you brought up this topic. I think a lot of people will join up without reading the rules about posting and make honest mistakes until they are corrected. I know that I myself was guilty of one or two but only to my website; never to a direct referral that I benefited from. I think that if you join my lot and know the rules then you should follow them. If people want to post referral links then go to link share or one of the many other forums that even pay you to post. You can still write posts that are relevant to your website and direct people to see your profile without breaking the rules. I have found my lot to be a place to relax more than to press affiliates.

Benny, I've got a comment to add. If the discussion is in making money or internet is it wrong for them to discuss the site if they don't post a link? We seem to have a divided issue on that so I am going to the rules to check it out.

Hate to burn you up with three in a row but here is an excerpt from the discussions guidelines what to do and what not to do. I'll see how everyone interprets it: Do Not "Post any links promoting other affiliate programs or that do not pertain to the discussion. Posting the same link over and over or posting links that have no relevance to the discussion is not allowed.

I have to agree with you Benny. As long as you don't post a link you can talk about it. Otherwise a lot of our topics would be banned.

I have always found it a wee bit odd that referral links aren't allowed. Maybe Mylot should start a referral links category where poeple can freely post their stuff instead of trying to sneak them into every post. The big problem I have with links is when you friend someone and they immediately bombard you with IM's containing all their links. That leds to me deleting them as a friend almost instantly.

thats a good idea, but then again too many referral links and mylot will become just another site where people spam the heck out of. Btw check my web site ha ha ha nah seriously leave the referral links to your profile and direct them there as once the spammers get hold of a site the word gets around and in no time you have just got spammers on the site.

Why are people so adamant in putting up links in their discussions when they know that it is against mylot rules? I can't understand. A discussion will not be less effective without those links spoiling an otherwise good discussion. I will not response to any discussion that has links to it even though they say it is not a referral link. A link is always a link and mylot will not be bothered to check but will just throw it to the bin.

I some what agree with you regarding referral links, but I would rather see them in the discussion than to have a bunch of email spam that I sometimes get when I request or accept a friend. I must confess that I have sent emails to friends here on mylot to tell them about a link they might be interested in before and I have posted a link in my discussion as related to the discussion. Here's some information from Mylot FAQ Discussion Guidelines of Do's and Don't: DO's Make sure to post useful links in discussions when necessary to provide authoritative guidance or to refer to a third party article. Now for the DON'Ts Post any links promoting other affiliate programs or that do not pertain to the discussion. Posting links that have no relevance to the discussion is not allowed. My comprehension to the above is that yes you can post a link if it is related to the discussion backed up with references(link)in a authoritative matter.

Well I have a question can we share a link to a site that might help the mylot user in their discussion. Like if the discussion is about like how do I pay taxes on my internet earnings and than I found a article online to show them info is that allowed? This is one question I think I have never really had answered??

If the link is relevant to the discussion and - not pointing to an earning site and - not pointing to an article written by the poster then yes it is allowed.

Well, sometimes I do, but I will go to the persons profile and see what websites that they have, I am scared to answer to some of the people that might post links because the discussion might get deleted. I do get sick of people spamming me though. Have a great day!

Well I firmly believe you need to go by the rules of the land. If MyLot rules prohibits postin ref links in discussion I don post ref links and expect the same from others too. If the link posted is honest I wont join under the referrer. The best way would be a discussion message about the thing and what others think of it and ask people to contact him for further details. MyLot Provided a message facility and people should better start using it
