Do you keep your car clean?

Do you keep your car clean, inside and out? I am so lazy sometimes when it comes to my car. I clean it very rarely. Right now there is a bunch of trash and junk piled on the inside of my car and some bird poop all over the outside. LOL On the other hand, my boyfriend cleans his car, inside and out, about once a week most of the time. How about you? Is your car washed regularly? And is the inside usually clean or junky like mine?

This is, perhaps, one of the most challenging tasks I face from day-to-day. I rarely wash my truck during the winter time at all. During the summer, the manager of the restaurant I work at lets college and high school groups hold car washes for fund-raisers in our parking lot, so I usually just let a group do it when they are there. I can usually get a good wash-job done on my truck for around five dollars. It is not a professional cleaning for sure, but it keeps the dirt and stuff off it. The inside is perhaps the hardest for me to keep clean. I am in and out of my truck constantly. I do odd jobs during the day, and I work during the evenings. I don't have a whole lot of time to worry about cleaning out my truck, but if you think my truck is bad, you should see my office LOL

Oh, gosh! What does your office look like? I don't mind if my car is messy but if the place where I do my work is a wreck then I freak out! When you do odd jobs, do you find that you track more dirt in your car or do you feel that the outside gets dirtier? I feel like getting my car washed, or washing it myself, is such a hassle because I have so many other errands to do from day to day.

I always have the best of intentions, but somehow never manage to keep my car clean. I clean it maybe a few times a year. Then once it is clean I am good for a week or two about keeping it clean. But before long there is an empty water bottle in the back seat. Then a jacket, then the shopping list and a granola bar wrapper. Before you know it, it looks like it's never been cleaned. I rarely wash the outside. It's just not a priority to spend the money, and I hardly ever find the time to do it at home. Usually I do it when my husband is washing his car, and all the stuff is already out. He's much better than I am about keeping his truck clean.

My car, yes. My husband's truck, not so much. As it is a work truck it's bound to get dirty so neither of us worry about it too much. We get the big items out (like his clothing, empty lunch bags, etc) when I use it so it doesn't get too cluttered up, but it is in desperate need of a vacuuming! LOL I did get a wash for it earlier in the day, but only because my husband is going over to his bosses house later on and he doesn't want to show up with it looking too grungy! LOL My car on the other hand gets washed on a regular basis, at least during the warmer months when birds tend to poop on it more. As it is in need of work it's just been sitting in the driveway so I haven't needed to clean the inside of it. I washed the outside of it by hand just last week and had to wash it again yesterday evening. Ugh! LOL I have no doubt it'll be needing another wash in the next few days. Darn those birds! LOL

well , i clean my car regularly . actually i clean it fully every week on Sunday, and also i give it a dusting ever day so that the durt that has accumulate on my windscreen and the dust on my car comes out and it shines . it gives a cool look when ur car is proper.and gives a feeling of perfection.

I know what you mean. Also, if somebody else comes in my car and it's a wreck I almost feel unprofessional. Just like the clothes you wear can come off as unprofessional, your car can, too!

I hate a messy car. I look at it as an extention of my house. I don't like a lot of clutter in the house, or in my car. My car gets a good cleaning every couple of weeks. I have kids, need I say more. They can be very messy sometimes so I have to make sure that it gets cleaned out. The outside gets cleaned in the summer more often than what it does in the winter, simply because the weather is nicer and I can get out there and wash it myself.

I know what you mean. I am 19 and even now when I drive around with my mom, my brother and I wreck the car with all our trash. We don't mean it of course! My own car is always messy. You make a good point about "the extension of your house". I find that interesting, and so true! Do you clean your car yourself or do you get it cleaned?

I live out of my car! I have the grandkids car seats in the car, books for them to read, toys too. You never know when they will get bored. It isn't like we have them every day, but it is nice to have the seats handy just in case. There is a trash bag that I keep in the front seat of the car. I try to put the junk in it. There is also supplies that I keep on hand for work. Extra boxes of gloves, my work bag, clipboard and other things. Forget about the trunk! My hubby washes the car when the weather is good. I never, ever wash it myself!

Of course. It's good to ride a clean car. We have our own hose like the one used in car cleaning

I don't really keep my car all that clean. Although, I try to clean out the trash when I'm putting gas in my car. I hardly every wash my car unless it's raining. I'm not the best at keeping my car clean, but I do my best at it.

No, I don't always keep the ole girl clean. When it is bad weather I can't see washing her and then have her dirty the second I drive out of the car wash. It is idiosy to me to do that. The inside I try to keep clean. I actually do pretty good since I don't have my grandson in it anymore. He was a messy boy and I wasn't real good about making him clean up or anything. It's a grandma thing. But, for the most part it is a clean car.

I have had my car for about five years and have never cleaned it. I don;t like cleaning much. My father always washes it for me. I sometimes throw out some empty bottles from the back seats otherwise I only once cleaned the dashboard.

Haha I wish my car was clean, somehow I'll clean it out but then all the junk will start to accumulate again. I do keep it clean on the outside though, just not on the inside.

My car is not as clean as it could be. I clean it extremely rarely. It is not extremely bad either but does have quite a bit of junk it in. I have an old car anyways so I don't really care that much. I wash it about once a month and the inside usually has empty water bottles and tissue boxes on the floor. I think that I am going to clean it this weekend just so that it is easier to find things in it. Good luck and happy mylotting.

Hello Bethany, When it comes to my car, I generally try to clean it once a month, or after I see it starts getting REALLY nasty. Frankly, the maintaining of a car weekly is a painful process and a hard one to continually follow (I would know from trying). But, I do occasionally enjoy a clean car...:D So, honestly, I think it's best to clean it when it's REALLY necessary, especially if you despise it (ironic, I know). If you wish to start a schedule, I'd say monthly just clear out the inside and run it through a public car-cleaning, but try not to avoid doing it as a whole or becoming a clean-addict. Cars are handy, but can be hard to maintain! :) -Fresh Writing

my answer is easy, I don't have a car so I don't have to keep it clean however if I had one it probably would be dirty I have to admit I can procrastinate a lot.

To be honest, I rarely really clean up the car. I just let it be. I just use the car mainly to go to the store and back. I guess if I had friends and family to go to see then I might feel differently about cleaning up the car.

Don't worry, I think I am doing just like you. I rarely clean my car. In most cases you will see a of papers scattered inside as well as some trash. Usually I have it cleaned and polish once a week. I bring it to the car wash. But on busy weeks, I rarely have time to do that. So often, its not clean.

hey bethany1202, sign me up for your plan. When i am driving and make trash i throw it in the back seat and only clean it when someone is going to use the back seat. If no one get in the backseat for a couple of months it gets pretty high. I commute to work 10 hours a week and it all my car is used for, we have a minivan for the family to tool around in, keep it our little secret and we will be alright.

I do like to keep my car clean. I dont wash it every week like your boyfriend, but I dont like to keep piles of rubbish...i used to keep rubbish in it but then once i gave a lift to someone and was really embarrassed with the mess, so I decided to start cleaning it more often from the inside. As from the outside, I realise that whenever I clean it, even if it is a nice hot sunny day, it will rain. even if it will rain for 1 minute!!
