Is everyone ready for Snail Mail again? If Obama has his way, we will have to go back to writing letters and mailing out checks again. Oh Yeah, and going to the dreaded bank instead of automatic withdrawals and deposits. Yeah, the theives will be able to knock the little old ladies over the head for their Social Security checks again. Well that will cut down on the population and the number of checks they have to mail out. Maybe that is part of the plan. We will have to get off the Lot too because they will know what we are writing about them. Thats kind of scary. I wonder if they plan on prosecuting folks who write the kind of stuff that is written here. I bet they do and will. Most of us don't use our real names on the Lot but it is in the records so eventually when they pass this new bill a lot of folks will skeedadle. Communism just takes all the fun out of life. These folks have to be stopped people. We are supposed to be the "Land of the Free"!!! We are no longer Free!!! Shalom~Adoniah

In a way it doesn't surprise me b/c 0bama seems to be all about control...he wants it and will do anything to have it. I believe that if they succeed in controling the internet that alot of ppl will leave the net b/c they won't like being spied on and controled. Not that it will matter in the long run b/c as the economy gets worse ppl won't be able to afford the internet anymore. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

I am not anti Democrat or even liberal. I am anti idiot. Folks need to think before they act. Congressmen/women need to read bills before they vote for them. Most of the congress admitted that they had not read a word of the stimulus bill or the bailout package before they voted for them. That is plain idiocy. It did not matter if they were Democrats or Republicans, they were idiots! We need folks in there who will think things out carefully instead of doing the knee jerk reaction, when something happens. And just how many trees need to be cut down to produce paper for writing, envelopes and stamps? I pay my bills on line for example and do so because every website promotes it for the cause of going green. Lack of personal security aside, is this President not 'green' at all? I'm not sure of the bill you are talking about, but from your discussion, I'm getting seriously worried about the impact of this new Pres of yours.............

He worries me even more! But now that he is in office, it is almost impossible to get rid of him until the next elections. He will not listen to anyone except his trilateral advisors and we all know what they want. Shalom

We are not going to last 4 years. As of right now our debt is owned by China and the Arab Emerites. If they want to, at any time they can call those loans and literally own our country and we will still be in debt. Shalom

I suppose the best you can hope for is that he only lasts four years and the next Pres has the good sense to undo a lot of the nonsense Obama seems to think is justified into putting into practice.

Hello Adoniah, OK, I know that I've been pretty much out of touch for these last few days, but what the hay? Has Team Obama signaled desired controls over the net? Can you share a source -- as I haven't seen anything about this. Thanks!

Hello Adoniah, Sorry about it taking me so long to get back to you. Time is such a short commodity these days. Anyway, about this internet thing. If the feds usurp control over the internet, then our First Amendment rights will be totally, completely, and wholly demolished. Given that his 'supporters' are often labelled as net-savvy, I am beyond shocked that they would be any more 'on board' with this proposed tyranny as his greatest detractors. Once again, I'm shaking my head -- asking "When the heck are people going to say enough?"

I think before anyone panics they should realize that these bills haven't been passed, and the way it is being construed isnt necessarily the way that it really is. And I think people are forgetting that George W. did something similar in regards to listening in on phone convorsations, that didn't stop people from using their phones though. My point is don't get upset over somthing that hasn't happened yet.

Bush also set up a way to target certain words in emails. This is still in effect. Obama promised that when he got in office that he would remove all of the spy bills that Bush put into effect while in office. As soon as he was in office. Obama reniged on all promises. Instead, he is coming up with new and improved methods to control and spy on us. Actually this is not Obama doing this. He has advisors from very interesting places that are way more intelligent than he is that are pulling his puppet strings. Obama has proven how little he knows over and over. Like the other day when he thought Austrians spoke Austrian. What an idiot. Shalom

I hadn't heard this but then again I have been really busy in moving and working extra hours the past couple of weeks so have not really paid much attention to the news. What exactly was his reasoning behind this? I would need to hear more before knowing whether this is really something to be concerned about. I remember the days of snail mail and I'll tell you what....there was less identity theft and scams going on back then. You did not hear of someones bank account getting drained from someone they never met and from the other side of the country. As it is now the thieves can get into the little old ladies bank account from the comfort of his own home and not have to go thru the hassle of hitting her over the head...because that happened so often???...Seriously, I'm not saying Obama would be right to force this but I'd have to read the story that you are referring to. Is he maybe just encouraging people to go back to this way? He is powerful but he has quite a few others that have to agree with him on issues to make any major changes such as you describe. Not saying you are wrong at all....I'm just having trouble believing this.

I agree with you. There are so many things that need fixing that it seems almost impossible. I'm praying that someone will come up with some answers real soon!

Ok...I read the link in #2. Yup...scary stuff. I think their intent is to protect us but there are some definite loopholes which are not so good. I don't blame Obama or anyone in particular for that matter. The world did not just get this way in the past few months. It has been getting to this point for years. We are all to blame and pointing fingers isn't going to help anything. We all need to work together to figure out how to get out of the situation that we are in if it is even possible at this point.

I could go on for days. It drives me nuts people are not opening their eyes to what is going on . Although , I can not blame obama for these things , he is just trying to clean up all this crap our other , not so intelligent ,George W. threw out. I do see many threats to our freedoms and how the government is trying to snake out this from us . I can only hope that we can gather again , and come to together as a voice, a loud voice , where we can take control of our country the way it used to be . I love America and want it to always stand for the land of the free, not the land of the communist.

Sorry but there is a very strong agenda with this one. By taking control of the Internet and taking the right to shut it down literally at will, Obama, Congress and whoever is now in control of our Country can look at all of our personal info and all of the info generated by all of our businesses. It also stops all of our bills from being paid and our paychecks from getting to the bank on time. Think of all the bounced check potentials and the late payments. The banking industry alone could be trashed. If this bill passes, I will stop using the net for everything except reading the news. My friends and I will come up with some sort of a code for emails, if we even use email. I will go back to strickly snail mail. I do remember how to write. This will be the biggest invasion of privacy other than actually entering a persons home and rumaging through their things without a search warrant. This is basically what they are planning on doing. Part of the plan is to prevent anyone from doing what Obama did in his election. Most of his campaign money came from sources outside of the U.S. via the internet. He does not want anyone else to be able to pull the tricks that he did. Shalom

It is time to stand up as a people and fight back and I do mean fight, before they take away our means to fight. We must not make the same mistake that the Jews made just before the Holocaust and say "It can never happen to us"! Shalom

I have read so much about people worried about bills being passed or bills that have passed that they don't know how they were. Well one way they have been able to pass certain bills is by using the voting system. What I mean is when you are in a hurry and you vote one party, guess what, whatever bill is attached to that party you just voted for without reading them. Yep, many do this because they don't take the time to realize what is actually on the ballots. So if you don't take the time to see what is actually on the ballots when you vote, then who do we really have to blame for things being passed. I know this isn't the only way, but is one that has worked for many many years. So suggestion, read the fine print before you vote next time, leave enough time so that you can do this.. be a informed VOTER..
