I am watching Lifetime and the movie is "Identity Theft" have you seen this movie, if so how did you like it?
I have seen it several times, and it just plain makes me angry to see how this woman steals this woman's identity with little or no problems doing it. The woman who owns the identity name is "Michelle Brown" and she has more problems trying to get her identity cleared and back than the woman that steals it.
I need to stop looking at television because it seems to me that the people that disobeys the law have more luck than the ones that obey.
The same with the government. I have a neighbor that never have worked and put anything into the system, yet he is on disability, doing more than I can do physically and I am not disable, I am just old and jobless and can't get any kind of assistance.
Back to the question, have you seen the movie Identity Theft, what is your opinion of this movie?

Chevee,
I haven't seen the movie, primatily because I've been victimized by identity theft three times. The first time, I couldn't get any help from anyone, because it wasn't a widely known crime. Someone stole a US Post Office mailbox from the front of the Post Office. They bleached the checks to change the names and numbers, and they stole a lot more than I had. It took me several months, many letters and calls and visits to officilas to get it straightened out, and the bank finally agreed to change their minds and not make me pay back the overages.
The second time, sever thousands worth of audio and video equipment were charged to one of my accounts. After a long, difficult investigation, the store agreed to remove the charges from my account/ Both of those incidents, incidentally, ruined my credit rating, which was not restored, nio matter what I tried.
Recently, I got a call from my bank, asking if I had been in the Middle East lately. Somebody in Abbu Dhabbi charged my checking account for several thousand dollars more than I had. The transaction was supposed to have gone to the Abbu Dhabbi Police Department. Even Interpol got involved, because it was money sent to the anti-Israeli terrorists and they'd had many other such events. They finally arrested somebody, but why would a Jewish woman with only a few hundred dollars in the acount send thousands to anti-Israeli terrorists? Fortunately, banks are now very aware of identity theft, and Chase just changed all my account numbers.
Identity theft is a horrible crime. No matter how careful we are with our accounts, thieves can get into them and do as they please. It makes yoou feel so horribly vulnerable!

Here in Miami lately, the only sport more popular than identity theft seems to be hit-and-run driving!

I do not think I have seen it, or I have only seen part of it. I have a bad habit of falling asleep in front of the TV. I know it can be a real nightmare if you lose your identity. Are you at least able to draw unemployment for awhile? How long until you can draw Social Security?
