I have in the past, my youngest daughter graduates highschool in a few months so it isn;t an issue for me personakly any more. I have taught them to ask questions, look up alternative information and think for themselves, and now have some very independant and critical thinking kids. It's kinda frightening how thse things are more about indoctrination than about education now isn't it?

Dependithe grade level these books, while boring as all get out, can be easy to read. If they are hard to understand then look at the summary and the questions at the end of the chapter, it will give you a good idea of what they are actually looking for in the book. I have read many text books in the past 4 years, for all grade levels, and I will tell you that many teachers do not even use the text book because they are usually sofar above the actual grade level of the students that it would be pointless to have them read from them.

I used to look at some of my daughter's books. Alot of it was very foreign to me and very hard to understand.
