Pink Dolphins DO exist!!

Canada

Here's a story, it's a different news group from what I saw last night on Global TV: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/4927225/Pink-dolphin-appears-in-US-lake.html But is the same story, with picture, NOT edited in anyway, besides making it clearer. The dolphin is essentially an Albino, and the scientists are trying to figure out why it's Pink, a possible sunburn (evenly proportioned on the body) or a DNA anomaly? Further searching led me to the amazon dolphin, which is also pink, which they reference to on the last sentence. A simple search should get you some pictures too, but unfortunately to me, those pictures look fake, but I can only assume they also exist. There are also pink elephants! Also the albino variety. SO! My reaction when I saw it last night on the news? 1) I WANT ONE!! 2) Hrm, a girl dolphin.....then chuckling because I caught myself thinking it was a girl automatically because it's pink lol. What is your reaction, now that you know that these beautiful creatures exist? Granted it's not the first sighting, I think there was another one in 1974, and 14 additional pink dolphin sightings since then.

Very cool topic. You WANT one? Wow, is you swimming pool big enough. Do you own the dolphin or does the dolphin own you? I've heard they are very intelligent :-)

haha, well wouldn't you want one? I would love to swim with the pink dolphin, but then again, I wouldn't want it in captivity, they may get sick. Thanks for responding and happy myLotting!

I don't know why pink skin is a subject of research here, most albinos have pink skin and pink eyes. What is unusual to me is that this one has survived, usually wild animals that are albinos don't last long.

Really? I've always heard albinos had white skin and pink eyes. And yes it's true about they have a lower survival rate, mainly because they stand out so much, especially to predators. Thanks for responding and happy myLotting!

I had heard about this about 2 weeks ago but I thought it was awesome too. I never would have thought that they exisited but they do. I guess nature is full of things we never thought were possiable. Pink elephants too? I was unaware of that I must look that up too. Albino are all over the animal kingdom as well as in the human race. I am off to look up some of this thanks for sharing and happy mylotting to you candymarie
