Cbeebies History

Does anyone know when Cbeebies was first aired in the UK? Or which was the first programme broadcast on it? I've Googled it and, while I can find the international debut, I can't find the UK debut or anything else about the history. If anyone knows or can direct me to somewhere where I can find out, that would be great.

Thank you for that. I looked at that as well and completely missed that part. You see, my 9 year old didn't believe that he was older than Cbeebies! I don't think there is anything about the original programming on that site and, just for clarification, I might see if anyone can come up with something that's not Wikipedia as that does have a reputation for being wrong!

You could, perhaps, start a discussion (or search for the topic) here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbcbeebies/F2704763 and ask them to confirm those dates. I don't know who put that information of Wikipedia but I would expect it to have been someone connected with the channel.

Cbeebies started in 2002, which seems about right to me. Sorry, I can't find anything else. I'll keep looking though.
