I came across some old photographs the other day and OMG! Here I was around 1985 being carried by five young men I used to work with wearing...Wait for it... A playboy bunny outfit! I'm still blushing; I had forgotten the experience completely blocked it out and looking at the picture I can see why!Oh dear, what ever possessed me? Why were they carrying me like that? I am presuming that quite a lot of alcohol had been consumed by the time the photo was taken! Sorry, no one is seeing it! It has been destroyed! Wait...I do remember it was a fancy dress New Year party. I also recall sitting in the car embarrassing my boyfriend because I refused to take off the bunny ears for the car ride to the party! I'm pretty sure I hired my costume (what there was of it!)And it is not an outfit I would choose again that's for sure! When was the last time you fancy dressed? Any funny stories? Please share...

Me IN 1973..OMG! - image of me in 1973
Aww--gosh,..I think a lot of us here would have loved to have seen that "prize" photo of you...LOL Well with me it wasn't so much dressing outrageously for an event or something like Halloween. No siree, with me it was the way I used to dress PERIOD. We're talking of those glorious hippie dippie Woodstock generation type days of the early 70s and I was as freaky looking as one could get. The "bell bottoms" with a zillion patches, the nehru jacket, bells, love beads...At one time I had one of those suede fringe jackets and looked like I was an extra for the movie "Easy Rider" I do happen to have one photo of me...shortly taken after graduating high school, by then I had tamed down....uh, just a tad...guess which one is me....LOL

If you were the one on the left and that was they way you dressed normally how did you go at a fancy dress party? You could wear that outfit now for a dress up! You sure were an individual! Thanks for sharing that Pye, I love it!

I`ve never gone to the masquerade for it is not fashionable in our country. But i really like it,if i could i must pretend to be Hermione Grangger or Bella.I love Harrypotter and Twilight veryyyyyy much. Being a bunny is not a bad idea, everyone in the party all wearing peculiar fancy dress, there is nothing to feel embarrassing, just the picture can make you surprised:)

I can imagine how exaggerated the dress is.the american movies or series have the same scenes like you say.I mean the rabbit dresses in Bridget Jones`s Diary is funny:)

You did it then, and now its done, so I may ask "Why so serious?" You can't remember, but may be you had a lot of fun too. I believe that everyone acts a little silly, atleast once in their life. These silly experiences make for such awesome tales to tell, when you get older. I myself once got into a fancy dress competition when I was small. I dressed like a Japanese doll and walked the stage saying... Oh I can't remember what... or may be I am just blocking it myself. Any ways, that WAS a fun experience, though I may not do it now, but I sure had some guts. I can imagine, how stupid I might have looked then. HEHEHE Take Care God Bless YOU

I've done some embarrassing things too! Sometimes I look back on photos and I can't help but grimace and wonder what the younger version of myself was thinking! We all have these silly moments! It's something funny to remember though!

That was a different place in your life and a different time. I am not sure why you are ashamed. I am disappointed you saw fit to destroy a record of a part of your life. Surely you should be proud of the fact you had an attractive figure enough to wear such a costume. We are young only once, and yes we do things that are immature because we are immature. I have not dressed up since I was a kid at Halloween. I would not mind doing it again as an adult, it seems to be a good way to get out of your usual persona.

I don't regret destroying it at all. I don't know what I was thinking! I sure was a lot more confident back then I think! Mind you, I should not complain if that is the worst thing I ever have to be embarrassed about. Gosh, I hope I don't find any more pictures I have put out of my mind! Thanks for responding!

You know that is the first thought I had when I came across the photograph, "I must not let my daughter see this!" Not because it was particularly rude, I just don't want her to think it's going to be okay to ever leave the house looking like that!
