Given the wide range of issues he has moved on, how would you assess the Presidents first 80 days? (1 being Ugh! Rotten! and 10 being "WOW"

7. He took the job with a big mess on his hands and I think he's doing a reasonably good job of trying to make the best of it. He loses some points for a couple of his appointees, but politics is full of bad eggs so I'm not surprised that he got a couple. Let's hope he can keep up the streak.

I'm going to rate him based on the constitution and the principals of the founders of this country. this should be the first and for most thing we rate all our elected servants on, the"gold standard" if you will of governence. On this basis, he gets a 0, an F-. To everyone who has given him high marks, could you elaborate on why? Without reverting to the cliche's of "bush blah blah" or "he's only been in office 3 monyths", defend his policies and acions on their own merrit, what has he done and how has it served the constitution?

since I asked this of his supporters, I will act in kind and give my specifics. 1.) posse comitatus being ignored 2.) black mail of states continues 3.) usruption of soviergn state authority continues 4.) The transfer of a great deal of power to the treasury department, dangerous and unconstitutional 5.) the continuing of a number of Bush polices such as the patriot act, FISA and border patrol cehckpoints in the middle of states. these are only 6 of hundreds of examples.

For now I will give him a 10 because I don't think I have ever seen a president that has had to come into office and clean up such a mess. Like you said the wide range of issues he is now handling is certainly not something I would want on my plate. I think we should give him a chance. It hasn't even been 3 months yet. LOL Here I am saying we should give him a chance and I'm Canadian. LOL But seriously I pay more attention to US Politics then I do Canadian cause in so many ways whatever happens effects us. We seem to follow suit. So I say give him a chance.

A 2 since he is selling democracy and freedom down the river. He is more concerned with being popular in Europe and elsewhere than in protecting American interest. The G20 agreement he indorsed will have grave consequences for the U.S. in the future. Now he is heading toward making Irans plans more likely to happen; look for Iran to nuclear missiles sooner than later with Obama's policies.

"where there kids can go to school he is passing a bill to change that, ," Greeat, specifics. Now, do you have bill number so I can go read this bill? I'd like to see the text. "hes trying to give the new children hospital money to make the hospital a better place for the sick kids that really need it" which hospital? where? how much money? where is it comming from?how is doing this, in a congressional bill? If so, what is the bill number, again, I'd like to go look at it. Incidentaly. the constitution is first and formost, it is the basis, the gold standard for all action. It isn't an election issue or an action, it is what actions must be based on.

i am not just talking about the constution or the bush blu blu i am talking about things he has done , we lost 3 police this weekend and he took the time out of his day to write the families a letter , also the school system where the parents where never able to make the choice where there kids can go to school he is passing a bill to change that , hes trying to give the new children hospital money to make the hospital a better place for the sick kids that really need it , sure he may be spending money but i think in the long run it may help every one, sure there are things i dont like that he did but noone is perfect, i will just have to wait and see what happens.

I'm going to respond to this then I'm going to run like he11, because the majority of myLotters who respond to these kinds of posts don't take too kindly to anyone saying anything even remotely positive about President Obama...lol! I want to say, "Wow" simply because he's hit and ground running and hasn't been afraid to take a lot of things on right from the start. However, I won't give him a 10 because, for one thing, nobody is perfect and for another thing, there have been things that have disappointed me. FISA wiretapping, protecting the telecom companies and the government from lawsuits over eavesdropping and the continuation of some of Bush's policies on rendition are a few. The positives far outweigh the negatives, IN MY OPINION. I have hope we'll really get true health care reform, which is a big issue for me. I like the idea of using diplomacy first instead of force in our foreign policy. I like that there will now be an investment in our infrastructure, education and energy independence. I know just about everyone here disagrees with me on all of these things but OH, WELL!! I may be in the minority on myLot but I'm in the majority in America...lol! Going to my bunker now... Annie

I give Obama a 9. I think he is doing well with the mess he inherited from the last administration. I think he is doing what he can to create new jobs and I honestly believe that the economy is going to turn around and things will be good once again. I have faith in him to do this job, and it looks like he might be on the right road. Yes, he got a couple of bad eggs, but he will overcome this too.

Obama is not doing so well as I expected. He is still continuing to increase the national debt and this may well bring the US down the road of destruction. The national debt has increased from $9 trillion last year to well over $11 trillion, and the US government and the Fed has spent, lent or pledged $12.8 trillion last year, almost as much as what the US produced last year. And what next? The G20 summit just pledged more money ($750 billion). Every dollar printed devalues every dollar in your pocket. Therefore, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Obama as 5 or 6.
