Do you hate it when this happens?

Let me start by saying that if you haven't watched the 3rd season of NCIS and you are planning to, STOP NOW!!! There are spoilers in this discussion!
The episode I'm talking about in this discussion is called Frame Up. (I think.)
Now, Maggiepie and I have been watching NCIS in order for a while now. She's been much more faithful about watching it on air than I have been, but this was an episode she and I had both seen clips of, but had not actually seen.
In it, Tony is framed for a murder.
Early on, I'd say with in the first 15 minutes of the show, I said it was someone that did it.
As it turned out, I was correct.
Earlier this week, I correctly predicted something else, but not NEARLY so major as this one.
Now, understand, that Maggie is pretty used to me quoting lines in shows never before seen, first run TV shows, and TV movies. I'm not quite so good with feature films.
Now, the thing I really like about NCIS is that plots continue from one episode to the next, for example, in one episode, Ducky and his assistant were putting together a "meat" puzzle, someone had taken apart human bodies and left them where they would be Ducky's problem. This started several episodes before the one that involved the solving of the problem.
Well, this involved someone that had been introduced earlier in the season, turned out he was the one that framed Tony (see, I spoiled it for ya)
So, are you like me and can spot plot devices/lines before they are delivered? Do you also know someone that can do this? Why do you think you/they can do this?
I think its because I am also a writer and its how I'd do it... And I really don't think I'm that GREAT a writer, so, you can guess that I think its not the best writing in the world when I can figure these things out.

yes, I'm pretty good at figuring out the plots. In both movies and television. I can pretty much spot the killer right away.I too am a writer (well, aspiring writer). Sometimes it is so obvious.

[b]It's always the guest star: just ask Columbo. I still adored that show, though.
And Elic, no--not annoyed, just flabbergasted (& very amused) at how frakking good at it you are!
My particular skill is spotting actors in obscure parts [i]before they were famous

I guess I missed that episode. I will have to go on the website and see if I can find it. My favorite is Numb3rs. I am not always home on Fridays.

I remember one night, when I was a teenager, my mom and two younger sisters and I were watching TV and my mom and I were driving my sister crazy by predelivering lines... I don't remember what show it was, but it must have been a rather formulaic drama for us to guess what a character would say before they said it.

yeah, when I first met Maggie it would drive her crazy, but now she just asks her same old question - HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT?
I can't say that I can deliver all the lines, or maybe I just don't want to do it, but normally I don't find NCIS so formulaic so when I do get a line it really has to seem pretty obvious to me.
I do see plot devices a lot on tv shows, probably why I'm not watching them as much as real shows like forenic files and Trama: life in the E.R.

[b]Tsk. You're selling yourself (& your talent) short, Elic. Don't do that.
As an answer to your query, yes, I've done that too. In fact, I've also got a knack for knowing, even when I've come in late (after the title of a film or tv show has passed), & don't have access to a guide to get the length of the show, of knowing from the way the plot is progressing whether it's a short story or a full-length feature. I wasn't always able to do that, but eventually I realized I'd picked up the skill. Shrug.

Hi Elic,
I have never watch NCIS before so I cannot coment on it, I have heard so much about it but it is just not my cup of tea, I suppose I like British crime series like Poirot and Miss Marple but I do love Murder She Wrote, with Angela Lansbury. That is sort of programme I watch.
