What music do you listen to while myLotting?

I do a lot of writing online and most of the time I'm listening to music. I have so much music that often times I just let my Zune randomly play. Then when a music hits my fancy I store it in the appropriate playlist. I have one for working, rocking out, exercising, writing, chilling, and partying.
Typically when I write I like to listen to a wide range of music, from techno to jazz. This keeps my mind working on different things to keep my writing fresh. My favorite musicians to write to are Jack Johnson, Ani DiFranco, and Dave Matthews. What do you listen to when you write or play around on myLot?

Right now I am listening to Sweeney Todd, the soundtrack of the movie. I love this cd and listen to it a lot while I'm on the computer. While doing mylot I listen to music often, usually the show tunes I like, like Sweeney Todd (all three versions) Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Les Mis and all the rest. I also listen to mixes my friends made for me. I don't listen to the radio much but I do listen to the mixes various people make for me at various times. The stuff I listen to regularly though are all from plays.

I love it when friends make me a mixed "tape"...LOL. I'm big on show tunes too. My favorites are Moulin Rouge, Guys and Dolls, and South Pacific. I'll have to get the Sweeny Todd one upon your suggestion.

Yeah, Sweeney Todd is great. I highly recommend it. You also may like The Secret Garden (the play cast recording, not the movie) it was a musical in the mid 1990s, and it is one of my favorites. It was up for a tony for best score but didnt' win, something not as good won, in my opinion, the Will Rogers Follies. But the album is great, the music is so beautiful. I listen to it all the time and you should get it.

I don't really listen to a specific kind of music while doing anything. I just put my playlist on shuffle and listen to whatever song comes up. But if I don't like the next song, I just press the "next song" button.

I've been working on making usable playlists on my zune. I have so much music that I need to organize it especially the genres.
My writing playlist has been created by putting all my music on shuffle and then picking out the random songs that I start pumping out some writing to. You would be surprised as gets the creative juices flowing.

I am listing to rock music; more specific I am listing to that song Lollipop. I know you are thinking that Lollipop isn't rock for it is rap and by Lil Wayne, but I am listing to the cover by Framing Hanley, which is rock. Here's the youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uF1fVmpO5JU

I really like that song from Framing Hanley. Every time I go and get the CD, the store is out. The remix has a really good beat and it fuses that rap sound into a nice rock tempo. Keep on rocking!

when i sign-in in myLot, there would always be Domestic J-Pop as background music, J-pop (Japanese Pop) really makes me hyper, it's so cool.

I often listen to music while I am mylotting. I have some of my favourite songs music on my computer and sometimes I listen to them while I am writing. Sometimes I prefer to listen to new music instead of songs that I already know, and then I search for songs on Youtube or listen to internet radio. My favourite internet radio stations are called Radio Butega and Magic CJK. Radio Butega plays music from European countries and I have discovered many great songs that I had never heard of before. Magic CJK plays music from China, Japan and Korea.

Sometimes listening to new songs really sparks my creative writing juices. I think its because its a refreshing sound of which I'm trying to interpret and memorize the lyrics. I'll have to check out the internet stations that you mentioned.

I don't always listen to music while I'm mylotting. Like right now, I'm listening to the TV in the background. If I am listening to music I'm usually listening to one of my play lists on www.playlist.com . I enjoy a variety of music. I listen to hip hop, pop, some country, some rap, r&b - like I said, a wide variety!! And I absolutely love jamming to Christmas songs during the holidays!

Listening to holiday songs and jamming out to them is awesome! I normally start playing Christmas music a week before Christmas and I don't normally stop until midway into January...LOL.

I don't have any particular music that I listen to - I just leave the TV jor DVD on, so it provides the background noises/music while I write, work or play games!

i am also doing a lot of writing online i usually listening to rock song like Paramore or Saosin...but i do enjoy listening to club songs like Lady Gaga and Katty Peryy. Something that can make me fresh and not feeling sleepy.

For me, i do not separate my music into different categories like you do..I just play it all out in itunes, and let them randomly play...Usually i pick songs beforehand to add it to my playlist so almost all the songs in my playlist are what i wnjoy listening to, be it when writing, exercising, chilling or partying! ^_^
