So today was the day I moved my cat into my new apartment. And I was wondering if anyone know of some ideas to make the transition easier on her. When I got her home the first place she hid was in the shower and then behind the toilet I have finally gotten her into the bedroom laying on the bed but she is shaking a bit and has been very quite. She also hasn't touched any food or water or even use the litter box yet. I just want to make things easy on her so she can adapt to the new area.

the best thing is to let her get to know the place at her own speed, if she wanted to hide in the bathroom I would've let her, I would set up her stuff in one room and keep the door shut most of the time until she is comfortable there, then let her explore on her own terms and at her own speed
cats do things best when they do it themselves, just make sure she has something familiure around her, a shirt you've worn so that it has your scent on it, or so she can get to your pillow or some other thing with your scent on it
in a little while she'll be settled and happy, because she's with you
people say that cats get attached to places, this is not true, but they do sometimes take some time to get adjusted to new places, they don't smell like home, they have to take time to adjust to the new place

I didn't remove her from the bathroom she came out on her own. I have a blanket that smells like both me and her that's wrapped around her like a little tent for her to hide in. And allot of the things in the apartment already smell like me. If i could put her in a room and close the door I would but I live in a studio so it is small and plus I have no bathroom door to shut or I would have for her.

ya its just been me and my boyfriend here and we have been keeping things calm. She is getting better, I got her to eat a bit and drink a bit of water but she still hasn't gone to the bathroom yet.

It's perfectly natural and what cats instinctively do. It is a new 'territory' for them... one that is not 'theirs' YET. Once the cat finds there is no harm in the new place, it will calm down, start eating and I am sure enjoy the new apartment.
Thanks
