Have you ever had to perform the Heimlick manuever on someone?

Years ago when I was little I remember my mom was in the bathroom trying to swallow a couple of aspirins. She started to choke and my dad rushed in to give her the Heimlick. It was a very scary thing for a child to see.
Through the years I heard that it happened again to my mom and once again my dad "saved" her. I thank God that my dad was home both times that it happened. So far I haven't had to perform the Heimlick on anyone and I hope I never have to. Have you ever had to give the Heimlick to someone?

I remember how to do it because when I became certified as a nurse's assitant every step is critcal...so it got drilled into my brain. Never had to perform it luckily because I would definitely be nervous. But I could if I had to.

I have never had to do that before. I really do not know how to do it the right way either. I need to learn it.
