hi fan, I am a shy girl also but I can say if you will compare to what I am before, I have more improvements now.I understand what you had stated here. As a child, I can say that I have a frail body. And because of that, my mom usually told me to stay inside our house and just play there. She usually buys books and dolls for me so to keep me in our house all day.Unlike other children, I did not learn how to socialize well.Whenever we will have visitors in our house, I just stay inside my room.I am also the silent type and yes, very timid type. But when I step into high school, I started to become active. I met my classmates who are very noisy and jolly to be with.As I get along with them, I became noisy and jolly type of person also. And those people who knows me that I am a quiet type of person were really amazed to the change. After that, I was assigned to to star section class. We were usually oblige to join different clubs at school and participate to contests.Through being active in school, I gain self confidence. As I am growing up also and become more mature I realized there is nothing wrong speaking up.Everybody commits mistake and that is natural.By thinking of that, it made me lessen my fears in public.

A classic example, some people feel so awkward to ask direction to people. Even if you are lost to unfamiliar places. They can not do it, being timid will not bring the courage from within. In a nutshell, they should work it out to have the strength to overcome this kind of personality.

Hi Fan, I would suggest you to 1st try to speak in fron of a mirror. That definitely help you then go to friends and family and speak in front of them and then you will feel confortable in public as well. Happy Talking,,, lol

I am also timid and i am not good speaking in public but recentlyi have been doing it a bit better. I just imagine that everybody in the room are my friends because to my friends i am not shy. I breathe nice and slow and i never look directly at the public, i fixate a point in front and i start talking, like this i wont see if anybody is talking and i wont get suspitious about what they are talking about.
