Would you rather book your ticket online or through agency?

In past I have used a travel agency, but now I prefer to book my tickets online instead. The internet has made a lot of things easier, and I enjoy planning my trip on my own. I have often managed to find cheap plane tickets online, and it is nice that I am able to compare the different prices online. I use the internet all the time when I want to plan a trip, I book the tickets online, I book the hotel online and I arrange the local transportation online (it is often possible to find timetables for busses and trains online)

I look at the Internet before booking a flight in order to get the best deal. I consider far more than just the price. In the recession I like to fly with a popular airline but as a safe guard I get excellent travel insurance. I like to know the flight times and with my toddler son these have to be convenient. I booked direct with the airlines for my last few flights that I have been on. In the past I have booked with a budget minded travel agency. Like when I went around the world I needed the expertise of the knowledgeable travel agent. I use a good quality travel guide book to choose my accommodation. I usually choose locally owned guest houses but somewhere unusual like a tree house is what I decide on whenever I get the opportunity.
