Come Along Peacefully...

This is a what if discussion…what if you woke up in the morning and found your town overrun with military soldiers. They come to your door and demand that you and your family come with them. Ppl are being loaded into the back of military trucks. No explanations, no warning. You try to ask questions only to be told to come along or they will use force. Do you fight against going or go along willing, hoping that it is all over with soon and you can come home? Once you’re in the trucks, whether willingly or by force, they take you to a large building where you’re told you will be held indefinitely. Again no explanations. Do you go along with it or fight them at every turn trying to get away? Would it be calm you to have your family with you? Would you insist on taking your pets with you? What if they refused to let you? What if they separated the women, men and children…would you panic not knowing what’s happening to your family? What explanation would you think of if they did this? I would definitely freak out if it happened but at the same time I’d do what they wanted in hopes that I’d get to come home soon. I’d probably be calmer if my family was with me and if they’d let me take Morgana with me. If they separated everyone, I’d probably worry myself sick over other members of my family. If they were wearing HAZMAT suits I’d think it was some kind of poisoning, if they weren’t I’d think it was some kind of government take over. What about you? Remember what the USA did to our own people because they were asian. The locked them up took there money and land and homes and didn't give it back after the war. I wouldn't go with them never. Tell me or we both die or at least one of us. More or less me. You have a good day. Have to go.

Are they US forces or terrorist forces? if they are US then i will go along willingly until they tried to seperate me from my kids then they would have no choice but to use force matter of fact they would have to use deadly force because there is no way in hell I am going to willingly walk away from my kids in that situation

Actually that suit of armor & the axe is on it's display stand at the other end of the house from my room. There's enough between my door & it to keep someone busy though. Heck no matter where I am in the main part of the house all I have is extend a hand & find something pointy to use ( might have to shake a tapestry off a spear or halbert but they'd work ).

Hey darkjedi there's actually a D&D game based on that kind of story. Presently my infiltrator is wrecking havoc on their ranks.

I would remain calm on the outside. On the inside, I would be on high alert. I would be plotting and planning how to escape from the situation. Trust issues would be of concern. I would trust more if explanations are given. No explanations...I would figure I am on my own. I would depend on me to protect myself and my family. Escape!!! Escape to a safe place. That would be my highest priority at the moment.

There would have to be some kind of warning beforehand, like martial law or a series of political events aimed at repressing the people. In that case, I wouldn't be in my home, the dogs and I will have left the city and be hiding out in the mountains. I hope this doesn't happen.

That's why we head for the hills, they are easy to defend! There are places to hide where no one could ever find you unless you wanted them to. I think if the kind of roundup you proposed was about to happen, they may have their hands full and more resistance than they expect.

I would bever make the trucks. They would have to kill me.First I don't go to the door unless I know who it is . so they would have to knock the door down. by that time I will have my baseball bat. Hopefully I will get one goosd swing and then they will shoot me in the head.

i'd be telling them i'm not leaving without my pets, period. they want to fight me about it,they're welcome to.i'd also want to know why i'm being detained. my first thought would be "what did they drop on the base?" if they had hazmat suits on.

Yes, the suits would make me think some kind of toxic spill, poisoning or something like that. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

you mean hitler style? I'd freak...I know my initial reaction would not be good. I'd go into panic mode and I don't do that well at all. I would probably be scared enough to shut up and hope for the best for all of us. If they took my kids....I'd go ballistic....i know I would. If we were kept together, I think...not sure..that I'd try to be calm and work with them on an escape plane. Pretty scary thoughts twoey68, hope it is never anything that i'll be tested on.

To say I'd freak would be putting it mildly. I'd be calmer if my family were with me. I'd fight for my kids. If I got separated from them the worry may very well drive me to insanity.

As I live alone... I would not have the comfort of my family nor the fear for them either unless of course there is the concern that this same thing is happening all over the State. I would want to check IDs and would not go anywhere unless they can prove that they have a right to do what they are doing and can give me an adequate explanation. There is a principle here and it is worth fighting for. My uncles fought for freedom in World War II. None of them fought so that our fundamental Constitutional rights would be violated. I would not open the door to my home to people I do not know. I would call the police and check out the situation, demand to speak to an attorney, etc. I would do this all, I hope, very nicely and sweetly but with much determination too. I am rather verbally expressive so I would be asking plenty of questions... and might even sit down and refuse to move or attempt to run or fight if I believed that they were up to no good.

I would just go along peacefully...I would think that the greatest chance of escape (and depending on the situation, that my not even be something you would desire) would come at a time when their guard is lowered and not when it is at its highest.

Well, knowing me and you do know me I would have only one thing to say to them, "Come find me!" And, then I would be gone into the woods and caves. I think they would have a better chance finding Jimmy Hoffa's body then me! LOL I think you would like a few sci-fi movie's I watched. Also, Schindler's List. **Peace and Love get's you through everything in Life**

Sounds like you are describing two different times in History. #1 this is what happened to millions of Jews during the Holocaust. Nazi soldiers would often pull babies from mothers screaming in the middle of the night and they were heared into trucks and cattle cars. Then, it happened again right on American soil to Japanese CITIZENS. I was sick at my stomach at what our government did to these people just because of their skin color. You should check it out. You certainly don't read it in our school's history books.

Hi, twoey68! I believe that I would be very scared out of my wits! But, I would cooperate as much as possible. I don't want to get hurt or see anyone else hurt either. That is not my intention. I would want questions, who would not. But at the same time, I will stay calm and act as if everything is cool. But, in another part of my mind, I would feel that I wished that I could attack them back, but I would need some skill so that my plan will not backfire on me. I would pray and ask God to keep us all safe from danger and harm. That is only what I can do. I hope to never encounter an hostage situation, ever. I feel bad for the ones that had to go through it. This is a life altering situation that one can be affected by for many of years. Tragic. And the ones that did not survive , I feel even more sorry for. This is some crap to be up against that is for sure!

i think that i would do so many things at the same time. while being calm and obey what they demand me to do i am also going to think through and observe the situation. and i will figure out in advance if there are ways to escape this horrible situation. i would definitely if i remaining calm will be the way to get out of the situation. and i would try to see what they are up to and what they plan to do and what are the things they can and can't do to us. If they are US troops, i think even government troops can be abusive and not only those terrorist troops. though it may not be as abusive as the terrorist groups. and so i may have to figure out what are they thinking and see how loyal these troops are in the command they were given and if they can be persuaded not to obey them if they are abusive and against human rights. but i would definitely think that all of them can be persuaded. i believe there will be still those some people in the troops who will still want to do what their instinct tells them or dictates them rather than obeying blindly their military leaders. and definitely i would be praying throughout the whole time i am out there held in captivity by these military men.

I am feeling quite anxious just thinking about it! It would destroy me if I were to be separated from my family especially my daughter and without her I would probably want to be shot right there and then. Separation from my pets would break my heart too. I think I would do as I am told providing my child was with me, all the while observing and plotting an escape. If I didn't have my loved ones and pets with me I would literally make myself sick worrying about their welfare and I doubt I would cope well at all, but I guess if you found yourself in such circumstances you wouldn't a choice would you?

I would flip out! I don't know how I would handle it! i think at first I would probably go along with things because I would be in shock but after that I don't know..I wouold be trying to figure out what was going on though.
