Is it really news? Why is it so important

to know what the Obamas paid in tax money? Why should this be public knowledge? Do you go around advertising your tax return? I think it is just tacky. President or no, some things just shouldn't be advertised. My opinion I know, but there it is. http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/92476/?fp=1

People will do anything to make a buck and from what I seen they both made a fairly decent living pulling in millions for 2008 but that is only to be expected. Maybe they do it so people will do there taxes more I don't know..But some want to know all they can I guess about the President and Vice-President..although this isn't your average thing..I say it should be a private matter..We don't need to know everything. I am surprised they haven't went as far to name the kind of underwear he wears..briefs or boxers..plain or colorful..lol

Yes it should be made public. He's a public figure and knew he was going to have to revel this information. If now, how would we know if he paid or not? Did you know Geithner didn't pay his taxes until he got caught? Then he only paid some. And now he's our nations National Treasury Secretary? A tax cheat is handling our countries finances, why do we have to pay but he doesn't?

I don't think it is really anybody's business what anybody pays in taxes. It does not matter that he is the President. If I want someone to know how much I paid in taxes I will tell them. Otherwise it is none of their business.

When your a celebrity, nothing is kept private. I took a gander at it, but honestly who cares how much they make? It's other things that they do for our country or god forbid against our country we should be worrying about!

Well, for starters no Republican should seek this information if they didn't express an interest in the Republican President. It is hypocrisy. Second, it is really kind of interesting that Obama is willing to be open in this sort of way. Really, he seems to feel he has nothing worth hiding.

Well I guess if he wants to be honest about his business than that is for him. Would I share mine nope. I mean with close close family yes but anyone and everyone no way. If he is trying to be on the up and up than I think that is a good quailty to have. Take care and happy mylotting.

Hi, it was released to show he does pay taxes and how much he and his wife earned last year. This way he doesn't have to try to hide his income. Transparency, is what he said.

This is part of the "most transparent administration" that Obama promised while he was a candidate.
