I heard she was coming to my area a couple of days ago and I wish I would have gone. But it would have been too late anyhow because the tickets for the fundraiser were already sold out.
I do hope she intends to run in 2012 and I do believe the woman is on her way to begin a campaign. She got some flack from her colleagues because she took time from things up there in Alaska to attend this fundraiser, but her people said that she was keeping her visit to the tri-state brief in order to get back home to business. I say power to her.
I was for her with McCain and I will keep an eye out for her in 2012.
Do you think she will begin a campaign for 2012? Do you want her to?

What does Palin stand for? I appreciate she is pro-life, but she has said little of consequence that I have heard.
She does not seem to have the grasp of issues that Kay Bailey Hutchinson of Texas has, or commanding presence of Senator Kyl of Arizona or the practice of dealing with tough economic choices like Governor Sebelius in Kansas. She talks well and has charisma, but that can be said of so many other people.
Please let me know what does she stand for that makes her unique. Does she now have the grasp of issues she was so famous for not appearing to have just half a year ago. I wish her well, I just do not see her as the voice of the Republican party in the coming years.

Well she stands for many things. She stands for bipartisanship, and holding members of her own party accountable. While the left attempted to paint her as a right wing extremist, her own record doesn't support that. She's appointed democrats and republicans in her administration. She's been a whistleblower on corruption amongst republicans. She's appointed a pro-choice judge to the Alaska supreme court as well, which supports the stance that her and McCain said they wouldn't use abortion as a litmus test for who should and shouldn't be on the supreme court.
She's a big advocate of special needs education and has tripled the amount spent on special needs education in Alaska. She believes in increased drilling in the US and Alaska, including ANWAR. She's also drastically cut the amount of federal earmarks for Alaska although the left will only say that Alaska receives more earmarks per capita than any other state (because most of their land is owned by the federal government).
She also manages the economy in Alaska well giving them a solid budget surplus. When gas prices were high they had drastically increased revenue. One of the things that garnered much praise for her was that she wisely didn't increase spending the way many governors do when revenues increase suddenly. As such, her state was able to cope with the sudden decline in gas prices as well.
The best way to understand her popularity and success is to look at her record. Too many people listened to the lies and smears from the media and clips from the Couric interview, which we can all admit was a disaster. You can't write someone off because of ONE bad interview and in this age of media garbage, you have to do your own research rather than believe the tripe they put out on CNN and especially MSNBC.

in response to the last comment on here, you say thank you for not just giving the democratic lies, but thank task for giving the facts, but you should realize that no one is squeaky clean and there are 2 sides to every story....I think its great if you like her and support her but you shouldn't say that what other people think is a lie

"I think its great if you like her and support her but you shouldn't say that what other people think is a lie"
But there are lies out there. Within a weak of her nomination the web was filled with lies like she was a pawn of big oil and her husband was CEO of BP. There were also lies that the only reason her son joined the military was to stay out of jail. Don't even get me started on all the lies about her son Trig and her daughter Bristol. I'm not saying she's squeaky clean, but there were far more lies than truths in the attacks on her.

From what I've been reading she's getting the cold shoulder more and more from the GOP and she's having problems with her own legislature at home. So, no, I don't believe she will begin a campaign for 2012 anytime soon. There are too many other, more qualified Republicans out there.

I also heard she'd been scheduled as the keynote speaker for a major RNC fundraiser in June but pulled out and has been replaced by Newt Gingrich, of all people. Apparently her reason for not doing that event was she'd be busy in Alaska with the legislature, even though the session reportedly would have been over by then. However, she did appear for this even although the Alaska legislature is still in session.

It was a matter of scheduling conflicts that prevented her appearance. She wanted to, but since her schedule couldn't be nailed down they had Newt instead. It's much easier to schedule someone who isn't an acting governor and Newt really doesn't have any big obligations at the moment.

Well, as a Christian I am Glad she is out there trying to promote a Right to Life, as I feel that abortions are often done too frequently for sure. I think the only time a woman should be allowed too is in case of it being dangerous for her to carry on with the pregnancy. So personally I think this is an issue though to be widely debated, but it will be interesting to see as well.

I totally agree with that, so many women are using it as a form of birth control nowadays and that is completely wrong, but what about in the case of incest and rape? do you really think it is right to make a woman go through pregnancy and child birth when it wasn't her choice at all to get into that situation?

I don't have much doubt she intends to run in 2012. I don't think she has a snowball's chance in he11 but she'll sure make things interesting, to say the least. I'd personally prefer she just got her own reality show, then I'd be able to avoid seeing her hearing her without much difficulty...lol!

Oh heck yes I hope she runs, she scared the crap out of the dumocrats because they didn't think Alaska had a voice as powerful as hers, and of course what did they do? They tried to smear her, can't you just feel the ground rumbling?

As she walks out in her high heels and beauty queen smile holding a hockey stick. I think she represents the American families very well and she is consistent. I like that a lot.

Well if you rely on the media for all info then I guess you would think that about her. But hearing her speak in several tv appearances and reading up how she handled corruption in her own government offices I have to hand it to her she had more guts than others. And it takes a strong character to put up with all the criticism.
I just never would have put the word "nut job" with her. There are so many others that would suit that.

well i know everything gets filtered through the media so it's never exactly accurate but she doesn't come across as the brightest coookie in the tin. Also i'm militantly pro abortion so i wouldn't ever be able to bring myself to vote for her even if i do think she has more of a sense of humor than some politicians.
I also think using her daughter as a pawn in her political career is unforgivable
