Do your company check on work attendance strictly?

Many companies will check on work attendance.So as a worker you must arrive the office before the begin time and leave the office go home after the end time,some companies often set the begin time such as 9:00pm and end time such as 5:00am.So everyone must obey the rules.If you cannot do,you will be punished.Also there have another companies will check on work attendance by the total time that you works.you must work at least 8 hours,so if you go to the office a litter later and you must leave the office a litter later,and if you go to the office early and you can leave the offect a litter early.
what about your company attendance?

To some degree we are very relaxed at my job. I am middle management, so it is up to me about how strict I am with people under me. There is a little leeway in what we consider to be prompt or tardy. I work in a field of human services and so it is different from a manufacturing plant.

In manufacturing plant,time is important ,But the project have it's schedule,I think if everybody can work under the schedule,and complete the work without any delay.The attendance record is not important to the company.
