Are you addicted to the internet? What would you do if you would not be accessible to the internet for a few weeks? What other hobbies would you pursue?

Oh I sure am. And I'm not ashamed of it. hahahah. I'd probably go a little insane and then...get over it. I dunno...read books...watch movies. The same really, but more time for those ones.

The computer/internet is a part of our lives already that we don't consider it an addiction. Just a part of our daily life.

These days I dont think anyone is ashamed to admit that they are addicted to the net. But I think getting addicted to the net is not good. I try not to be too long on the net though today I haved spent quite a few hours here online. And am beginning to enjoy myself.

Reading is indeed a very good hobby and I am trying to read more now. Though as a student I had hated reading. But now I am trying to get myself more into my books. And I hope I enjoy my reading.

There are some who could be described as addicted to the internet. There are some who depend on the internet for their work and income. Each person has their own reasons for spending their time on the internet. Personally, I fall into the second category. If I do not have a connection to the internet for a large amount of time, I lose money. I would have to find a hobby or some other activity that helps me to earn money. I would garden and sell the items I grow. I would type and write letters for people who need that service done. I would do research for people who need help. I would find something to do that also brings me some money. I could bake cookies and breads that I could sell at the local market also.

So if we ever meet I could look forward to some nice cookies? I am not too fond of cooking. And in our city we can hardly think of gardening. So there are hardly any options of earning from home for me.

Ya really i am quite addicted to it. I spend most of my time on the net checking out the new stuff like new websites and blogs. I am really much love with the internet and i am always hooked over it. If I would have a problem accessing it for a few days i will watch some informative programs on the Tv and also check out what my friends are upto. But I certainly feel very very bad if I will not be able to accesses it for days.

This is a really great topic. I think most people wouldn't even use their computer if they didn't have access to the internet. I always try and limit how much time I spend on the internet and because of this, I have educated myself with three different programming languages "basic, c++, and perl. There is so much you can do without having to go online. I use the internet for information more than I do for enjoyment, but then again, is there much of a difference?

You mean to say you are foregoing your sleep now just to sit in front of the computer? What do you do online. You seem to be new here to mylot so I cannot say that you are mylotting the whole day!!!

I am tittle bit addicted to internet and computer, but i always put limit on my internet usage. There is a proper time table for me on the net.In the morning i spend one hour on the net and in between my jog i spend two to three hours. Now am working as a network engineer in a software firm.In between my work i get lot of free time.If i get any free time mi like to spend it on mylot and other money making sites. Now a days gaming and Internet addiction is a growing problem facing many families, couples, and individuals both young and old. This psychological disorder is defined as uncontrolled gaming and Internet-related behavior which interferes with or impairs normal functioning, and causes severe emotional distress for the individual, their family, friends, or their loved ones. Gaming and Internet addiction can also disrupt one’s academic performance, or their job performance. Game and Internet addicts typically and unwittingly make games and cyberspace the top priority in their daily lives. If internet is not available,i like to spend my free time in hearing classical music or play some indoor games.

It is good that you are putting a limit to your internet usage. I too do not access the internet too much now. Am just at home after my studies and sometimes access the net through my laptop. Am not too fond of gaming. In fact I have not tried these internet games at all. I prefer reading some serious stuff on the net whenever I get the time.

I am only sort of addicted to mylot. Without mylot, I would have been living it normally. I have a lot of hobbies so I think if time should come that I couldn't myLot anymore, I think I still have somewhere to go. Thinking about it, losing time for myLot that is, really saddens me.

I think I too may get addicted to this site after sometime. Just now I log in for just an hour or so but not everyday. Will try to be more active here since I know my time will not be wasted.

Well not really, but internet has became the part of my daily routine, so whenever I am unable to access ( very rarely, because I have my laptop and USB Modem always with me ), it feels like something is incomplete, something is missing. To some extent I agree that it is kind of additciton, but not of the type, which you cannot get rid off. Anyways as I am a Computer Engineer, I have to use computer and net to earn. So it is part and parsel of my life and required. Just my thoughts.

So as a Computer Engineer you have to use the computer at all times. Hope you do not get addicted to the net though it is a part and parcel of your job. There are a lot of good and interesting sites on the net which are not harmful for us. But being there too long is also not too good.

I've had a time when I couldn't access the internet...but yeah, I know that I am a total addict, because even when I can't, I try to find some way to get on it, LOL... Luckily, the hobbies that I have that take up a good portion of time and keep me from doing nothing but sittin gand posting on the internet are gaming and weightlifting... Sounds like an odd combination, huh? :)

You are lucky to be getting a rented laptop for a few weeks. it is not possible for us to get one here where I live. Try and earn the maximum these few weeks and I am sure you would be able to get your self a computer soon.
