..And here I am,thinking that today, a lot of nations and races are already open-minded.Let them call us whatever names they like, let's just work on proving to those nationals that we are a strong, smart, and brave race.

Maybe some are just jealous of Filipinos' resiliency and ability to laugh and have a good time even during hard times.as you said, no need to prove ourselves.the news will do that for us.but of course, we also have to consider our attitude towards the other nations.bottom line is, we should respect ALL people, regardless of race.

Unfortunately, there are many of your countrymen in my country that doesn't behave themselves well and has been giving your country's bad image. But I know they are from the southern part or from the islands of your country. For your info, I am from Sabah, Malaysia. Their presence as illegals has become a big political issue and a political gimmick each time when there is an election.

You're talking about Mindanao. Yeah, they ruin the whole image. Not all of them but many of them are terrorists, they want to be separated from the country and they're doing it the wrong way. They act immaturely so how can they be independent? They use weapons and even hurt their own race/group... how could they be leaders when they're already on their own?!
Well, this is already another topic. LOL
But thanks for replying. Happy mylotting!

That's one risk of being in another land aside from your country. Although not all foreigners are like that, it's not really fair to call people names. Anyway, it's really not a fair world we have.
And we Filipinos but not all also call foreigners' names as bad as them calling us monkeys. I heard someone while strolling down the boulevard she called a foreigner gorrilla and giggled with all of her friends.
Anyways, just do your work with a clean heart and conscience and evrything will be alright.

you're right.
well, i just heard the story from a person.
Whatever comes, I'll do my best and graduate as a doctor (hopefully) then one day, I'll be one of the filipinos again who can prove that we are respectable and are also human beings with profession, dignity and love for work, family and God,first of all.
Thanks for the response.

Hi ms. kharen. Relax, keep your cool. I guess not all foreigners are the same. Some are even good to filipinos. Don't get angry because they call us monkeys and some names. Why? First, well, it's not really true. Second, most foreigners prefer marrying a Filipina rather than their own race. They find true caring and love with filipians. Thirdly, we also call them names and worse monickers that I will not mention. Just be happy that we are not like them. We are filipino, we are of kind heart and spirit. cheers!

the heck you're right. I just feel the rage when someone calls a filipino naqmes etc even if they didn't do anything bad. Sometimes others just do that because of discrimination and well, maybe there'll be days that they'll suffer the same thing of what they did to hurt some of us.
Thanks for the response!

aww. don't listen to them when they call you names angelie. People tend to call me names at times, too. It makes me angry but it fades away immediately and I just forget about it. You must do the same. :) And better yet, pray for those people calling you names because they don't really know what they're talking about. People sometimes even call someone name because they're envious of something about that person and maybe it's the same in your case.

i have not personally here some foreigners calls filipino as such. But i have heard alot of discrimination about Filipinos in different cases though.. it is not right, but we are living on another land, so we can do anything much about it, and let's face, we are sometimes bias on our own culture, and tend to say somethings about them too. we just need to respect other culture, so that they respect ours back.. All we can do is excel in the different skills or areas that we are best for as Filipinos, and be the best in everything we do so that our family and country would be proud of us. We must show those foreigners that we are the best...

kharen, dont get so much affected by all these things. Even religions are also being discriminated. We cannot do anything about it. Imagine, some people would call muslims as terrorist. Things like that. For me, I don't care if you are American, Filipino, Asian, Indian whatsoever, we are all the same. They eat, they release their dirt, they work, they go to sleep, there is not difference. God will punish those people who are very discriminative though. So don't worry, everybody is responsible for his or her own actions, God will make sure of it.. Or if they don't believe in God, well I guess they have conscience too that they will think what if they are to be treated that way. So relax and live with it... why did something happen to you? Do you have bad experiences? I'm a Filipino too.. Well to be fair for those who call us monkeys sometimes you can't blame them, maybe they have met some bad filipinos so that's the result of their behavior.

No, i didn't have any bad experience. I just heard that story and it made me feel angry. Of course, who wouldn't right?
Yeah, they would pay for their actions but well, it wouldn't come from God because I know God doesn't punish... it all comes from ones own doings.
Thanks for the response. Happy mylotting!
