Do You Like Avocado/Guacamole On Your Burgers?

Canada
April 20, 2009 6:11pm CST
When I lived in Arizona, I often had burgers and sandwiches with either slices of avocado, or avocado in the form of guacamole on them. I really got to like my burgets this way, and now that we are back in Canada, this is how my husband (the cook in the family) prepares them. YUMMY!

YUMMY! is right! I love avocados. Yes, I eat them on burgers, sandwiches, cereal ........... (I kid, I kid). And sometimes just right out of the skin with a spoon.

I'm not an avocado person, I'm afraid. I can't bear the consistency of the flesh and I find it quite tasteless, even with dressing added, so I don't think I'll take it in my burgers thank you. However... you enjoy what you like, my friend. Everybody's taste is different. Brightest Blessings.

I am a purist when it comes to food. I like my hamburgers with ketchup only. Nothing else. Not even cheese, just ketchup.

To be honest i don't actually like avocado (and therefore guacamole) so i would not have them on anything, even fajhitas. It would never have occured to me to put them on burgers, it's not something i've come across in the uk, we tend to put ketchup, fried onions, melted cheese maybe some pickle etc on our burgers over here. Think i'll stick with the way i know, lol.

Why guac and avocados get such a bad rap I am not sure. Yeah they are high in fat but what out there that tastes so good is not? It is rare that I have it on burgers but on/in fajitas it is great... adds another level of taste that would not have been there... a taste on its own not a taste complimenting some other taste that is already in the food. It's tough being green! Thanks Zelo

Yeah here in AUstralia it seems to be the latest craze- adding avocado to your burgers for an extra dollar. They're doing it at McDonald's, Subway and some other places. Avocado rules and it creates a lovely taste and is an excellent addition to any burger.

Oh gosh this topic makes my mouth water. I too love avocados on my burger, i life in california so every burger restaurant has one with avocado and 9 times out of 10 i will order that one. I grew up with eating lots of avocados because before i was born my family lived in upper state new york for about 5 years and my mom said that if you went into a grocery store there and asked for an avocado they looked at you like you were nuts because they didnt know what an avocado was lol (this was 23 + years ago)

We had some diced avocado tonight on our salad, my kids weren't sure and it tasted okay to me. I guess its an acquired taste.

I love guacamole in any way. I like it very hot. As for avocados, my favorite slads always include them. I also like to eat an avocado alone (I halve it, pour olive oil and salt where the pit goes and eat it with a spoon. In my country it is very common to have bread and avocado paste (avocado mashed with olive oil and salt)for breakfast or tea time. We also make entrees with a bed od lettuce, half an avocado filled with prawns and a bit of homemade mayo.

My uncle use to put fried egg and avocado on his hamburgers. I have never tried either one on my burger. I have never been much of an avocado eater, however, I do enjoy guacamole.

Oh wow, that sounds soooo yummy! Actually the only kind of hamburger I have ever ate with guacamole was the Angus beef guacamole & bacon six dollar burger from Carl's Jr. I had one of those 2 months ago and probably wouldn't even tried it if it wasn't for one of the Carl's Jr employee highly recommending it. It was a bit spicy because it was packed with red onions, but omg, it was sinfully yummy!..LOL ..I try to watch what I eat health wise, low cholesterol diet and don't hardly if any touch dairy ( if any).. But once in a blue moon I crave a sinful meal , and Carl's Jr is one of the place's I visit when I have a naughty yummy food day ( which is usually once a month)..I would like to try a black bean burger with mushrooms and guacamole or avocado slices on it..I bet that's good also!.
