Costco is selling coffins. http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.aspx?cat=20595&eCat=BC|20595&whse=BC&topnav= They look pretty nice. Would you buy one? Would you buy one if you could save a few hundred dollars? Would you consider this tacky, after all a funeral is just another consumer product you are paying good money for. In Canada and I assume in the United States you are not forced to buy from the funeral home, you can supply your own. You can order one of these and have it delivered to the funeral home. I think some of the caskets at the funeral home are overpriced and this would be a great saving as funerals themselves are expensive enough. If I was not going to be cremated and I was close to my expiry date, I might even buy one and put it in the basement, then I can see what I will take my last repose in. I might even try it out for fun.

Well, they sell just about everything else, so why not coffins? I haven't reached my expiry date, either, but I sure as heck am past my "best before" date!
